Did you ever in your life listened to Billie Holiday singing this unbelievable jewel named "I cover the waterfront"? I was listening to my cousin's albums and have found one with Billie singing that song. I tried to imagine Morrissey, with his amazing voice singing such amazing song.
I had a lovely afternoon with Lady Day, crying, listening that voice giving me that remarkable performance. Sometimes I wonder what stars like Billie, or Elvis are doing now in heaven: Perhaps a show full of angels around them?
How I'm grateful to listen to Billie's voice! if you don't know the song, please run and find unless a mp3 file of it.

"I COVER THE WATERFRONT
Johnny W. Green / Edward Heyman

Away from the city that hurts and knocks,
I'm standing alone by the desolate docks
in the still and the chill of the night
I see the horizon the great unknown
my heart has an ache
it's as heavy as stone
with the dawn coming on, make it last

I cover the waterfront
I'm watching the sea
Will the one I love
Be coming back to me

I cover the waterfront
In search of my love
An I'm covered
By a starlit sky above

Here am I
Patiently waiting
Hoping and longing
Oh how I yearn
Where are you
Have you thought back time
Will you remember
Will you return

Will the one I love
Be coming back
To me"
