I hope it was 'for the Oil'

Through nothing more than a geographical accident, Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iran,Iraq, & Kuwait among others, have found themselves rich beyond the dreams of avarice, owing to the World's dependence on oil over the last century.

As their oil has become more & more valuable, it has become almost their only export of any real value.

So the rulers of these countries, either 'Royal' Dynasties that leave the vast majority of their citizens in abject poverty, while they live lives of unparalleled opulence, or corrupt regimes, such as the one recently deposed in Iraq, or religious fanatics of the type that rule Iran.

My point is, none of these parasite 'Nations' contribute in any real way to the advancement of the Human Race, not in the Fields of Medicine, Science, Art or any other area in the field of human endeavour.

No, what they continue to do is to hold the World to ransom to subsidise their obscenely affluent lifestyles, while their people scrape around in the dirt.

I'm not surprised that among these people, there are those who feel the injustice of their situation keenly & need to find someone to blame.

It's a pity they're too stupid to realise who is really to blame, their own so-called Rulers.

Instead, they allow themselves to be manipulated & brainwashed into hating people in the West, who they are told are wholly responsible for their plight.

I believe we should have invaded these parasite Nations years ago, deposed their corrupt regimes & taken possession of the oil.

At the same time, we could have ensured that the majority of the peoples of these, paradoxically, God forsaken countries, got a much better deal in terms of standard of living/quality of life/freedom of expression than they'd ever known previously.

If the Islamic fundamentalists, as demonstrated by The Taliban in Afghanistan, really want to live in the Stone Age, then they should be treated in the same way that I would also treat Lottery winners who say "the money won't change my life & I will carry on working", that is, take the money back off them, or the Oil in the case of the fanatics, & give it to someone who could find a better use for it.

In conclusion, I don't care if Bush/Blair invaded Iraq for the Oil, in fact, I hope that it was the main reason.

Their blood is on the hands of Saddam Hussein, The Baathist Party & the subsequent insurgents in Iraq led by the fanatical Islamic fundamentalists that still hope that the Americans & their Allies will lose their nerve & scuttle back home with their tails between their legs, leaving them in control, & Iraq in a worse state than it was 3 years ago.

Let's not forget the blood of the over 2,000 American/Allied Troops, who are being murdered daily & have to continue to fight with one arm tied behind their backs because of the shameful opposition to the Governments Foreign Policy by the usual rag-bag of assorted malcontents, that even extends to the heart of the BBC, as witnessed by their terrible betrayal of the Allied forces in their daily news reports.

One more thing. Why hasn't Al-Jazeera been shut down yet? That station is little more than a recruiting agent for Al-Qaeda & their sympathisers.

You should be doing the thinking, rather than repeating the same old Propaganda you've had spoonfed to you through the Media.
