Why the live version of the song?

May I ask one question? I haven't seen the real video before, just the one shown on MTV2 (I'm on a mac), so I thought I'd wait with this question, in case the "real" video was different. But it wasn't, so much question stands: why is the live version (recorded in Manchester, I suppose) used in the promotional video instead of the studio version? In my opinion, the studio version sounds far better. Why it does is self-evident.

I think the live version sounds fantastic. Already one of my friends has told me they were really surprised at how good Morrissey is after seeing this video.

They also enjoyed the more overwrought members of the audience.
