Re: CD-Wow.ie showing new album release date

CD-Wow are now showing the new release date (they were previously showing April 29th.) They've also increased the price to €17.95 (from €13.95 ) - maybe because it has an accompanying bonus CD or DVD ?

what would make me happy

a simple wishlist for the average fan:

maybe Sanctuary could list him on their artist website. he is signed to them after all and theoretically has an album coming up in a few months. it would help to know that he or his label Attack exists. they bother making press releases, but if you try and go to investigate on the label website, there is nothing for the fan to look at. they don't even have his name there! why this strange trickle of information? why do you have to look on CD websites and see conflicting info about release dates?

17 euro sounds about right for a CD released in Ireland.

€17.95 is too expensive for a normal single-disc new release from CD-Wow. The standard price for these releases is €13.95 - CD-Wow are typically €8.00 - €10.00 cheaper than the Irish high-street price for new release CDs, which is why they're being sued by IRMA (the local equivalent of the RIAA) - unless they've introduced a new price category just for Morrissey. The €17.95 price-point on CD-Wow is typically the 2-disc special edition version of the release where the second disc is a bonus CD or DVD with remixes or live footage etc. But of course the CD-Wow price could be incorrect.

Not that it really matters - but according to ILM posters CD-Wow are increasing their prices overall - which if true probably explains the higher price CD-Wow are showing for normal single-disc releases in the May timeframe, including Morrissey's:

FAO: "always a bridesmaid never a bride"

I just sent your post to the Big Guy (CEO) at Sanctuary Records. You make a good point. So don't say I never did anything for you.

well, thanks, but i'm an eternal pessmist about little people vs. big guys.

Re: FAO: "always a bridesmaid never a bride"

Of course, I have accused you of being an eternal pessimist period. Believe it or not, sometimes he actually considers what I have to say. What you have suggested is in everyone's best interest.

We'll see.

so have they written back or are they going ahead and letting their paid staff of promoters and advertisers call the shots?

Re: FAO: "always a bridesmaid never a bride"

The CEO answered me personally when I mistakenly harassed him.

it's one thing to get a letter saying "thank you for your interest" but i'm talking about a letter coming back saying, "wow! why didn't we think of that??"

Re: FAO: "always a bridesmaid never a bride"

no. he actually sat down and wrote how great an artist Morrissey is.

i see.

but it's easy for him to do that. anyone who has just signed an artist should be willing to say a few nice words about them. it's a good sign to show enthusiasm.

as for the other issue, i'm sure they have a plan of what to do with morrissey's career so i regard asking for website updates kinda useless...not that they ignore mail from the fans, but that's a different issue.

Re: FAO: "always a bridesmaid never a bride"

actually he said something along the lines 'Morrissey is a big boy and we can't make him do anything he doesn't want to' (in regards to doing a VH-1 Behind The Music). So I think Morrissey's career is planned out by Morrissey, which is quite disturbing.
