Roger Manning to play keyboards on upcoming album

Roger Joseph Manning Jr ( Jellyfish, Air, Beck) New Album - kittyradio.com forums

Producer Jerry Finn and I have had a long fun filled history together in Punk Pop heaven with group's like Blink 182 and found ourselves both being invited back for our second Morrissey album. I think fans will be pleasantly surprised by this new solo offering. It was all tracked live which added a great punk, garage, DIY urgency to the tracks. I am so used to recording keyboards in the more traditional overdub scenario that being asked to invent parts "on the fly" and track with the band while Morrissey sang live was a very refreshing and challenging experience.

Ten Things You Never Knew About Morrissey - Digital Spy

Wednesday, February 13 2008, 06:00 GMT
By Beth Hilton, Entertainment Reporter

3. Morrissey ditched his first name when he embarked on a serious music career. He explains: “The thing was that I was always getting called Steve. And I was never a Steve. I thought, well, I only need one name anyway. And it was such an unusual name that I thought I wouldn't ever be confused with anybody else.”

4. Where did The Smiths get their moniker? Rumour has it that Morrissey came up with "The Smiths", "Smiths Family" and "Smithdom" as a reaction against bands with pretentious names. He asked guitarist Johnny Marr to take his pick and the rest is history.

5. Morrissey took anti-depressants from the age of 17 but considers his black moods a sign of intelligence. "It's a positive thing to be," he insists. "It means that you're not a crashing bore. I mean, you don't get support groups for rugby players, do you?"

7. Morrissey was particularly miffed when a critic accused him of "conveying all the worst aspects of bestiality fused with homosexuality". He moans: “As if simply conveying basic bestiality couldn't satisfy me - but no, I had to plunge for the very worst aspects!”

Concert tickets to be won on German Morrissey-website
posted by davidt on Tuesday February 12 2008, @09:30AM

Cashews writes:
Inside the Greatest Hits Deluxe Edition that you can buy in Germany, there´s a slip of paper saying: "Win concert tickets now", the address is:

http://www.morrissey.de

If you go there, you´re directed to the following site.

There you can fill in a form to win concert tickets, but it doesn´t say when or where these concerts will take place.
Does that mean we can expect a European tour soon, or is it just a hoax to get access to e-mail addresses & phone numbers (you are required to leave your e-mail address AND your mobile phone number) of Morrissey fans?
The site looks good, there is all the new relevant information about Morrissey, but not too trustworthy: they also claim that there´s an exclusive booklet in the Deluxe Edition, which isn´t true.

Another slip of paper in the cd says you can buy a "very special Morrissey release" exclusively online, the address is:

http://www.morrisseydirect.com

If you go there, you can sign up to "express your interest".

NME review of Greatest Hits

Johnny Taronja writes:
Hi,
I dunno if you've been notified before but...

1) the NME's review of "Greatest Hits" (6 out of 10) is online and it's not a particularly good one.
Here's the link http://www.nme.com/reviews/morrissey/9460

2) The UK site Hagley Road to Ladywood reviewed "That's How People Grow Up" and, again, Mozza doesn't come on top.

Down Kill Up Poll
How do you feel about Morrissey dropping the F-bomb during his recent concert in Hamburg, Germany? (suggested by Ken Stavitzke)
I support Morrissey's response
Morrissey could have replied differently
I am undecided
I don't care
The audience provocateur should be examined, not Morrissey's reply
