According to the TV listings Mozzer is going to be 'tracked down' by Tim Samuels and asked questions from 20 years ago. Here is an extract from the bbc website:

"Tim Samuels tracks down his childhood hero Morrissey, and plays him the tapes from his first interview with the star, recorded 20 years ago in Manchester when Tim was 13 and writing for the Vegetarian Society magazine. How will his hero worship go down?"

The Culture Show is on BBC2 at 6.55pm and is usually presented by the lovely Lauren Laverne, who interviewed the man when he performed at the V-Festival in 2006. They also did an interview with him in relation to being in the top three of 'the greatest living Brit'. Could be an interesting show?

After flicking through tv listings it appears Morrissey is on the above show. The listing says "..Tim Samuels will be making a personal dream come true by interviewing his childhood hero, Morrissey.!

The show goes out at 6:55pm on BBC2 this Saturday.

  • Lordy, if one was to ask Swallowneck some questions he had previously answered 20 years ago I fear his new responses would be so sexually charged, they would be unrecognisable!!!

  • Wonder if Moz has read the article where Tim says he abandoned vegetarianism after 10 years? Ewww I bet that makes you real sick

  • ...I could receive BBC, this sounds really interesting.
I wonder how it will go: will Tim Samuels play the questions, then wait for the new answers & then compare them to the old answers? Or will he play the questions & the answers & then wait for Morrissey´s reaction?
Whatever the details, I´m sure it will be fun to watch & I´m quite excited about this - I hope someone will post it on YouTube soon! :-)

  • I've seen this in 'What's on TV' and got very excited but it's not on the website for some reason...

Maybe it was planned and has been cancelled or moved back a week I don't know. I e-mailed them a couple of days ago but I've not had a response so I'll just keep my fingers crossed. Maybe Moz on BBC2 two days on the trot is just too much to ask.

  • I watched the Culture Show and couldn't help noticing that Morrissey was missing, was there a specific reason for this? Or was it wishful thinking on their behalf??

  • Seems your information was wrong - there was no Morrissey on the show - and when the presenter said what was to be on next week - no Morrissey there either.

  • I checked my recording on Sky+ & the EPG states that Morrissey was to be on the show. Must have been a late change for whatever reason.

  • An email reply to my enquiry to the Culture Show explains the reasons for the non-appearance of our hero:

    Dear Trevor
Many thanks for your email to the Culture Show - we're very sorry that
you were disappointed at Morrissey not featuring in the programme as
promised on 9th February. Unfortunately Morrissey fell ill on the day
that we were due to film with him and our publicity material is sent out
some weeks beforehand and so occasionally this sort of situation arises
where a feature is delayed for a few weeks and our content unavoidably
has to change. We are endeavouring to bring this item to you in the next
few weeks and will do our very best to ensure the correct information is
trailed in the previous week's programme. For future reference, the most
up-to-date listings for the programme can usually be found on our
website www.bbc.co.uk/cultureshow if you're able to check there.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused in this
    instance.

    Thanks for watching.

    Best wishes

    Laura Stevens
