The Smiths on TOTP2

It was tonight's episode so if you didn't see it, you've missed it. However, fear not as it was 'The Boy With The Thorn In His Side' and therefore the same performance that is on the Complete Picture video.

I had a doctors appointment at 5.45 but manged to make it back just in time to see Kirsty MacColl, knew The Smiths performance would be the same one on the complete picture video. OK performance by Dexys, not too thilling, couldn't work out who was new and who was from previous incarnations in the band.

For those out there with more wayward taste, Status Quo, and two of the osmond brats were also on.

I have a feeling it was Mick Talbot on keyboards for Dexys. I'm not too sure who was from the original line-up. Probably just Kevin Rowland! Are you going to see them AK?

Which reminds me, The Undertones got a mention on 6music earlier, did you say you were going to see them? If so, what were they like?

Sadly I had to miss The Undertones - Gutted. I've been stricken down with bad flu since last Thursday and I've now been told I've got a bit of Brochitis, hopefully it will clear relatively well in time for the Kirsty MacColl fans get together on Sunday, anyone else going ?

Are Dexys playing in Nottingham or Derby or anywhere near enough to Notts ?

Coventry is the nearest (Warwick Arts Centre), other than that it's Leeds for you, I think. Here's a link to the dates and venues.

Soz to hear about The Undertones. That would have been a great gig. Maybe they'll do more dates when the album is released.

I'd go to the Kirsty thing if I was nearer London. Ah well.

I have taped it but I know Mick Talbot(ex Merton Parkas,The Bureau,Style Council)is in the new line-up.

Talbot was only very briefly in Dexys. I don't even think he played on any singles or albums.

The only other ex Runner in the current line up as far as I am aware is Pete Williams.
