Smiths convention, Manchester UK 1988

Did anyone else go to this convention? Any memories? I remember Andy and Mike turing up at the Hacienda on the night and getting mobbed. I seem to remember that Morrissey dropped Shaun Duggan off early in the morning and no one spotted him. He used to drive a white VW beetle

That's cool that you got to meet them, & that they actually turned up, you wouldn't think they'd bother.

I don't think i'd buy an autograph of a famous person though, there just doesn't seem to be much point if you didn't get to meet them yourself, also there's so many fakes out there (not insinuating that your ticket is!) that you don't know if you're paying for the autograph of a 14 year old boy from lancashire sat in his garden sipping a cherry tango.
