"I know where I'm going" - A guide to Morecambe & Heysham. It can be bought very easily from the www.bookworks.org.uk website. It isn't quite as fascinating as I'd hoped though. The photos aren't by Linder.

I know Morecambe fairly well and I've drunk of the nettle beer sold at Heysham, visited the stone graves and all that - so I did enjoy reading some of the history of the place. It's a slim volume with full page pictures opposite a page of text noting things such as the demise of the pleasure park and the fact that rock'n rollers used to perform there, and now in the junk shops you can find all sorts of 'pop' items from the fifties, sixties and seventies.

Perhaps building a nuclear powerstation next to the seaside resort was the nail in the coffin for that seaside town? You can imagine Homer Simpson working there.

The text is pretty pretentious if you ask me, but quite a nice coffee-table book nevertheless. A 'rare' Christmas present for the Morrissey fan in your life? - even though I haven't found a reference to Moz in it yet.

Does Linder come from Morecambe does anyone know?

Oh, and it's only about 72 pages, not 112 as advertised.
