First of all thanks for the compliment!
I am still sort of a Morrissey fan, albeit with a cut off point.
I will disappear again after today but I actually feel strongly about what has happened to Morrissey, the way he is destroying his own legacy and I'm just putting my opinion out there...
Morrissey doesn't care any more. He's not cared for a long time. In fact I think it's fair to say he's undergone some kind of mental breakdown.
I was a massive Smiths fan, my friends and I idolised Morrissey, we followed Morrissey around on his 1995 tour and saw some great gigs. There were a...
'Sam' has to be one of the worst songs of all time. Really, Brett was just about through the bottom of the barrel at that stage but we'll always have 'Dog Man Star'.
Exactly what it says on the tin.
The best track from the 17 albums I bought and reviewed on my blog during the first quarter of 2010.

Very rarely go to gigs these days (being an old codger of almost 40) but I'm going along to see Dinosaur Jr and Built To Spill in May.
I'm not a huge fan of either band (I like them OK) but I'm sure it will be good to hear some live music again and hang out with a friend from out of town.
Simple Minds earlier records (minus the first one) were pretty decent, especially Empires and Dance.
I've always really liked this particular track, Big Sleep from New Gold Dreams.

On a whim I pulled out 'Homework' by Daft Punk and put it on for probably the first time in a decade or more.
I've since become completely obssessed with the track 'Rollin' and Scratchin' which if you like that sort of thing is absolutely fantastic.
I'm glad someone else mentioned Edwyn Collins.
I've said many times how influential the Postcard scene and in particular Orange Juice were on The Smiths although it seems to me its rarely commented on elsewhere.
Although Collins has a slightly different sense of humour from Morrissey you can...
OK, I have issues with this album. It plays like some bad movie where the hero's friend dies. Goose in Top Gun or something. Please, don't sentimentalize the death of Johnny.
