All the arguments about the rights and wrongs of re-issues aside I would have dearly loved to see a Morrissey track in the top half of the charts again.
2004 seems a long time ago...the only artist to score 4 consecutive top ten hits that year.
With no new material to entice fans who already have the track to part with the money ("November the Second" doesn't count really, does it?) and with no promotional work (thanks, I would suggest, to Mozzers own noose like tongue) to support it I guess this was inevitable.
I do wonder if this points to a bigger issue about Mozzers "relevance"? He has a large, loyal fan-base who will always buy concert tickets and releases but his ability to connect with a new market is dwindling I think...at least in the numbers needed to propel a release like this into the charts.
With Alain Whyte now enjoying a level of success away from Mozzer that he hasn't enjoyed before (Will.i.am, Rihanna and tracks on several big television shows) and with few impressed with the work of Tobias I also wonder if there is another "comeback" left in Mozzer?
I sound a bit critical here I think...which isn't really my intention. Just genuine questions...be gentle with me!

He SHOULD have written a proper new song and released it as a single in conjunction with the re-release of Bona Drag. Then MAYBE.
Speaking of should be singles, had he released that demo of Sweetie Pie without all the distortion/effects (that could be found here on the site at one time), that song would have been HUGE! It was one of his best songs of late. But he didn't, and the consumer version was crap.
