According to the official email (I'm sure many of you have already seen it):
** UK Residents Can Catch Morrissey On Channel 4 on Thursday 6th April
'4 Music Presents Morrissey' - Edith Bowman interviews Morrissey exclusively in this 30 min Channel 4 Special, which also features live performances of new and exclusive tracks from his latest album along with The Smiths classic 'Still Ill'. Produced by Nick Neads for At It Productions. Transmission date is Thursday 6th April at Midnight.
Isn't Edith Bowman that silly wench that was a bit anti-Mozza before? I wonder how sycophantic she'll be face to face with The Great Man?

My pick: The Colbert Report, of course, in an animal rights/vegetarianism episode. Morrissey sparring with Stephen Colbert... I see sparks! Strong possibility he'd be too shy or nervous, however.
He's also long overdue for an appearance on the Simpsons, though episodes do take a long time to be broadcast.

live on air on bbc1 several months ago - i kid you not. Sorry but it was quite offensive even though I was not the subject of the joke.
Channel 4 are cool however.

I noticed he was very defensive about the whole love issue though. At one point he insisted "I am NOT in love". It's a love affair with Rome, apparently.
He also learn that Morrissey's favourite Tony Visconti albums are the ones he did with T. Rex, though we knew that already, didn't we?
He got the maracas out while he was wailing at the end of The Youngest Was The Most Loved. Magic.
They also played I Just Want To See The Boy Happy. Moz was clapping to the beat while Mikey played the trumpet.
In the next part of the interview Bowman asked if these days were his happiest, he said yes. She then asked if he could've written a song like Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now in 2006 and he said absolutely not. He said that song came about through all the pain and anguish he experienced in the years before. He also said that he hates watching footage of him in the Smiths days.
The last song was Still Ill. Boz was playing acoustic guitar, which made this version sound quite different from the original. In the first verse instead of "England is mine", Morrissey sang "England is swine".

The interview was quite revealing.. talking about nutters on his lawn in LA etc. How UK fans are the best. How hes selfish when it comes to picking the setlist. Yeh good stuff.
And the version of Still Ill was fantastic, as were Youngest and I Just Want To See
good stuff: he seems like the old Morrissey (Score:0)
it's a shame his lyrics and interviews are no longer so good. I don't think there's any humour at all in the new album is there? at least Quarry had first of the gang.
still the new songs sounded good last night and Still Ill was magic.

The band sounded ok, but too quiet (as ever) and his voice was good but too loud (as ever).
"youngest" sounded better live, while "boy happy" sounded ghastly. It's better on CD and that's saying something.
Overall, a very nice show on channel 4 but Morrissey needs to realise HE is 90% of the talent on stage there, and the band are 10% (Alain is 8%). They're nice guys and have done some sterling stuff, but they have got to go.
Morrissey could change pop music again, and become the most important artist on the planet again. Or he could become the indie Macca, touring with "the lads," who will soon be happy simply to pick up their cheque and go back to their £1 million apartments.
In order to understand what I mean, just look at the impact jesse has had.
Morrissey hires a former Alanis Morrissette session musician to tour with him, and he makes such an impact, he becomes a regular live and studio fixture.
WHat does Morrissey suppose might happen if he worked with someone truly brilliant?
John Squire? Johnny Greenwood? Brian Eno? Johnny Marr, even?
Stop being "content" Morrissey and empower yourself. Take a gamble, be the person you are and used to be rather than the comfortable middle aged rock star I hope you will not become.
