I attended The Los Angeles Film Festival's second screening of "New York Doll," about Arthur "Killer" Kane, at The Laemmle Sunset 5, and Morrissey was in the audience, he was with his manager and another man. I saw Morrissey coming up the escalator as we were queued up for rush tickets. Apparently, Morrissey also attended the first screening of "New York Doll" on June 18, 2005 at The Director's Guild of America. Greg Whiteley ("New York Doll's" director), acknowledged Morrissey after the screening. "Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" was used in "New York Doll." I didn't see Morrissey stopping to chat with anyone, and I didn't get a chance to say hello to him. Barbara Kane, Arthur Kane's wife, was also at this screening. This documentary was all that a documentary should be; touching, informative, and a fine tribute. "New York Doll's" theatrical release will be in October.
