I am listening to 91x today trying to win tickets to the show in November and they just announced that the show has now been cancelled. That is all the information they have for now and will post more information if any.

This show may not have ever been confirmed, as it has never appeared on Morrisseymusic.com. No word on the Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Berkeley and Los Angeles shows similarly not confirmed.

  • How could he cancel SAN DIEGO which has a huge fan base? Wonderful week, my father is dying, and now my concert is cancelled. Morrissey evidentally wants more money- WE helped him pay for his baby blue Jag and merlot. What a selfish fuck!

  • Yes, it never was confirmed. That date, along with the Vegas and Ca. shows were only posted on that livedaily.com site or whatever it was... I have a feeling that this will be the same type of fiasco as Philly, where it was listed to go on sale and then it wasn't, and them morrisseymusic announced all of the dates, it was re-listed, etc. Just hope they announce the rest of the US shows soon!

  • It's a damn shame.... oh well thank god THE CURE keeps their promises & know how to make up for rumored shows. I think I got enough of a fix with them. Seeing morrissey wouldn't have been enough for an "overdose" anyway. (Not really talkin' about drugs)

Please excuse me if this has been mentioned a few times already.... It seems like Morrissey will flirt with or book an event, get alot of free publicity for his new and old CDs in papers, on the radio and TV in whatever city or country these festivals are...only to pull out as the date gets near(Spain!). The promotors don't have to issue refunds if there are other bands on the bill, and they benefit from the initial bump in sales when Morrissey was first added to the ticket. So everyone wins except the fans, right?
My interest in this tour has just hit an all time low. I'm not gonna end up sitting on some non-refundable airline tickets to El Paso like some sucker!

  • People on this board can be so childish!! there are so many elements to consider when a cancellation occurs, it could be because of the tight schedule, contrats with the promoters, the venue (availibiity) insurance problems. Don't just assume it's all Moz's fault. Usually artists barely know their tour schedule, it's all handled by the management team,I also notice and people seem to be indecisive as to whether the show was confirmed or not.I probably will be reschedule anyway so just chill out!!
    Anonymous -- Friday September 17 2004, @05:57AM (#124688)
  • I have it from a reliable contact at Sanctuary, that Morrissey states that he is goin to be ill around the time of this concert. How could you all be so cruel in slagging the great man off.

I also have it on good authority that around the time of this gig there it is going to rain, and Morrissey has clearly stated he will not fly when it's wet as he gets "anxious"

This has nothing to do with Morrissey being greedy or lazy, I personally think this is a total insult to Morrissey that people should talk like this on a public forum. Please buy his new single when it comes out (buy it twice to get daddy's voice and the other bsides)

Love and respect to you all, and don't be so negative.

  • He'll reschedule, I'm sure. Or come around in a few months. I mean, c'mon, he's like two hours away from you guys. And I never saw a listing on the MorrisseyMusic site for a San Diego show. Aporpos the comment several hours ago: that is correct, it's not like Morrissey is telling his tour manager, "Oh, God, San Diego!? CAncel that show right now." Shit get's fucked up and so it's happened. Three's no need to worry: you'll get your Morrissey.

  • The 91x DJ said yesterday that he personally talked to Morrissey's manager and he told him that he is not coming to San Diego but he will in fact do 3 nights in the Los Angeles area. Maybe the Universal Amphitheater rumor will be true.

  • moz didnt show up last nite at the inland invasion, everyone there was talking alot of shit...whats going on? moz should stick to doing his own independent thing like hes been doing the last 8 years and play smaller venues so theres no pressure to sell a shitload of tix, especially at the prices they are this tour. its insane!! he'll never be a giant pop star who can sell out madison square at 60 bucks a pop like his label wants him to do. i wish it was the mid 90s again. he was respectable then. now he's put himself on the meat market for the highest bidder. maybe he needs another fucking Jaguar
