Morrissey announces massive December gig

MORRISSEY is to play a huge LONDON gig at Christmas.

Fresh from his appearances at last month’s Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds festivals, the star will follow his current UK tour with a date at London Earl’s Court on December 18.

A spokesperson for the singer told NME.COM that tickets will go on sale this coming Friday (September 10) at 9.30am.

(though no worse than wembley arena)

but i feel good about this booking. this has been a triumphant vindicating year for moz and his long-standing fans. it's not just great to see him on good form. it's also that he represents insight, intelligence, charisma and honesty which i thought were dead qualities in pop culture (i hope simon cowell hates him).

now i need to get into something else including (if this isn't too melodramatic) improving my own life. i need to cut down on moz a bit!

so after reading and 2 rfh shows i vowed to resist should he book another london show this year, and earls court is very resistible.

still i'm delighted he's stepping further into the mainstream, upstaging the usual bland puppets who play such places. i'll be happy knowing he's operating in london at christmas.

so if you don't have moz in your life yet, you are welcome to him through shit sound, soapy lager, a stiff neck and strained eyes. i'm sure if anyone can prevail in there he can.

though did anyone see him at wembley arena in 92 (?). bet it was crap behind row 20.

That's two whole days before they go on general sale - check the official site if you're a member.

Moz and the Lads may struggle I fear, although they didn't at MENA I suppose, but the acoustics are far superior there.
Can't believe that having seen the Man's last alleged Xmas Show at the Astoria that he commands an audience at Earls Court.I'm both astonished and chuffed. Wow! Great times as has been said before. So,who'll be first with the reunion rumours?

  • Yes, most of the tickets will sell eventually but probably not all. He hardly managed to sell out the Festival Hall shows which had less than a quarter of the capacity of Earls Court. This is gonna be more heavily promoted but it will still be easy to get a ticket even if it sells out. Do not buy tickets from the greedy cowards on E-bay!

  • Just to confirm some advice from someone above. If you are having trouble getting tickets, go to the artists A-Z list, click on Morrissey and a pop up will open listening the two sold out dates. Click refresh on your explorer bar then look back at the pop up and Earls Court will be there.
    Anonymous -- Wednesday September 08 2004, @03:47AM (#123133)
  • Is quite simple. No need for refreshing etc. If you go via the link on morrisseymusic it goes straight to the pop up window with dates. However, if you haven't signed up to the Mailing List on morrisseymusic then the Earls Court gig is hidden. If you do register for the Mailing list then the Earls Court gig is there.

I struggled for a bit earlier but then did this and got 4 tickets no problem.

I prefer smaller venues as well, but there is no doubt this will be one for the books. I reckon he will pull out all ths stops. How soon is now? for Reading, what for Earls Court? This Charming Man? Hand in Glove? Ask? just the possibility of it makes me shake. Even if he doesn't change the set-list at all, the scale of it has to be witnessed. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Tickets, including Standing are still available 9.30am GMT Friday 10th September.

Mozza should buy us all a drink for the amount of profit we've made him! Failing that I want the most amazing performance of his life, which might be problematic in the Car Park Building otherwise known as Earl's Court.
