MORRISSEY HELPS FIGHT FASCISM! - NME.com

MORRISSEY, FRANZ FERDINAND and THE STROKES are among a host of bands who have signed an anti-fascist petition as fears grow that the BRITISH NATIONAL PARTY could win a seat on the LONDON ASSEMBLY after the forthcoming Mayoral elections...

  • As "Irish blood..." proves and as I have long advocated patriotism does not equal fascism or nationalism.

One can love ones own country without hating everyone elses.

How ridiculous must the tired hacks at the NME in the 1990's feel now?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha etc

By the way, what a lot of anonymous posting on this thread by those with the more ashamed views.

There is no justification for racism, no matter how much you try and wrap it up in politics. It just comes down to right and wrong.

The rise in far-right support just goes to show how easily manipulated alot of people in this country are by tabloid newspapers.

...and I need to be loved.
  • How stupid the BNP suporteres must feel, who a few months ago were on this board claiming that Morrissey's comments on immigration indicated that he was a supporter of their beliefs. See, he hates you racist fools!

  • So...Mozza signs up against the BNP scumbags thus spelling out sloooowwwwlly for the remedial kids at the back of the class (racists and ironically challenged liberals alike) what the rest of us have known all along. A good thing too.

You would think that would be a bit of a hammer-blow for the deluded, demented and retarded far-right flotsam who bung up our nice chatroom. And yet it seems some of them are still hanging round!

Listen fellers, you're not wanted round here, not by us, and certainly not by Morrissey (unless of course THE JEWS have tricked him into signing! Christ, I'd better not put ideas in your heads...)

When there was just one or two of you coming over here we could cope. But there's now just too many, and, lets face it, you were never going to assimilate to our ways. The two cultures of Moz fan and Nazi-crank just don't mix. Don't get me wrong, I`m happy to you to live in your own chat rooms (there's no shortage racist hate sites on the net I hear)just don't come invading ours.

Go home. Get back to where you came from. Outsiders out! Morrissey for Moz fans!

Can you see what have done there? Devastating irony no?

MEN show was fantastic by the way! Things to do for June; keep the BNP scum out of Parliament and put The First Of The Gang To Die in the charts at number one!

  • I have heard from a trusted source in the Music Media that Morrissey has NOT signed the petition against the BNP & that NME were forced to say that Morrissey signed the petition to make up for what they did in the past.

Could someone please show me evidence of Morrissey actually signing the petition.

  • Morrissey says that he is happy in spin magazine. Morrissey is like you or I. When things are going well he`s happy. Morrissey just wants to be loved. Morrissey is human. It doesn`t need a psychiatrist to tell anybody that. Morrissey, we all want the same my dear. Morrissey, you`ll find that it`s nice to be liked. If you`re not liked you try to be different just for the sake of it. I tell you what, though, it`s lovely to be liked. FIRSTODIE

  • This website has seen its share of abuse, but I think this really is the most disturbing thread I've seen.

If I dare throw my own thoughts in, I don't think Morrissey is racist. I think that certain controversial songs of his were meant to be more ironic than anything. Besides, I wonder how the BNP would react to a member whose first album's sleeve was an edited shot of a man giving another man oral sex? Not to mention campaigns for peta? He's not exactly their usual member profile!

  • Anonymous idiot, racism is ignorance and hiding behind some bullshit psuedo-intellectual 'I know lots of big words' anti-multicultural crap, such as you posted, does not change this.

And, fool, the idea that multiculturalism is some kind of theory or philosophy that requires an explanation or proof only explemplifies your utter lack of anything resembling intelligence.

I hope you die of AIDS.

  • Whats wrong with being 45 eh? What can't 45 year olds hold onto the same views that they had in their 20's/30's. If you don't like Morrissey's views then why not FUCK OFF to something more suited to you (internet porn perhaps?)

  • Morrissey has been a vegetarian since he was 11 years old(after seeing a documentary about slaughter houses).I hardly call that being "trendy".If caring about humanity and having respect for all living creatures(the environment)is "trendy",than what a wonderful excuse it is...I wish more people
were "trendy"(for all the right reasons).
