  • Wow, this is tremendously exciting! I can't wait to get my hands on some of these rarities! Such as that track, "Now Soon Is How?", I think it's called. By my understanding, it's only previously been available as a B-side to William, It Was Really Nothing, as a single in its own right, on Hatful of Hollow, on the US edition (and WEA UK re-issue) of Meat is Murder, on Best I and on Singles.

Cheers Warners, this is just what the fans were asking for!

    Reliably devious and truculent.
  • Idle Compilation (Score:2, Insightful)

After the recent attention given to Moz and The Smiths such as in the Mojo magazine, it's typical that they would cash in with yet another compilation. It's been 6 years since the Singles collection, so in that time why haven't they managed to release the full concert of Rank or rare radio sessions that have been unreleased?

Throw your NME copy onto the fire, come out and find the one you love!!!
  • I think what a lot of Smiths are failing to acknowledge is that there is a whole new audience out there who haven't heard The Smiths. Currently they are undergoing a terrific reappraisal. Travis, Radiohead and Badly Drawn Boy among others have expressed their admiration for the band and cited them as influences. If this album helps a new generation to discover this wonderful band then that's all right with me. After all, this compilation isn't aimed at those who already have The Smiths back catalogue.
