Greatest Hits package details, exclusive online 'special Morrissey release' coming soon
posted by davidt on Thursday January 31 2008, @12:00PM

An anonymous person writes:
I received a copy today directly from record label source. 2CD set, disc one 15 tracks (without Alma Matters), disc 2 8 live songs. Comes in a rather beautiful gatefold digipak (to get a double LP feel I presume). Fold out picture is the band (liner notes say "band shot by Morrissey"). The 2 CDs are housed in extra "inner sleeves". The inner sleeve of disc 2 features a photo of a male naked arse/back with "Your Arse An'All" written across the ass. Liner notes say "Morrissey's arse photographed by Jake Walters".

There is also an extra sheet included with the following text:

"Coming Soon. A very special Morrissey release. Full details will be available on - www.morrisseydirect.com - Order exclusively online for a specific limited period only. Made to order and not available in-store."

Do you have any idea what that will/could be??

"The Smiths File Online" - new Smiths and Morrissey website
posted by davidt on Thursday January 31 2008, @12:00PM

Buck-toothed girl writes:
Great new Smiths and Morrissey website - The Smiths File Online. The site includes select magazine and newspaper articles, album and single reviews, news items, photos and scans. Also boasts a sizable collection of Smiths live reviews, including the first ever live review to appear in NME. Also of interest are items (articles, reviews) from the New Zealand-only rock publication Rip It Up. All the material is presented chronologically and in a manner similiar to a book - it's a kind of 'e-book', if you like - and tells the story of Morrissey and The Smiths through the pages of the music press and other print media. Overall, a thorough summary of the press coverage received by both Morrissey and The Smiths. http://www.plunderingdesire.com/

The good folks over at 'The Music Slut' blog are displaying an image taking of Morrissey wearing a Morrissey/Obama 2008 political shirt.

Morrissey Displays Political Preference On T-Shirt - The Music Slut

Hardcore Moz fan, Scarlet Ibis, created the following item, specifically for Steven Patrick Morrissey. He wore it at 1 of his London gigs earlier this week (photo courtesy of EPbabe).

Down Kill Up Poll
How do you feel about Morrissey dropping the F-bomb during his recent concert in Hamburg, Germany? (suggested by Ken Stavitzke)
I support Morrissey's response
Morrissey could have replied differently
I am undecided
I don't care
The audience provocateur should be examined, not Morrissey's reply
