Johnny Marr on the reunion (again), favorite Smiths album

Johnny Marr is interviewed in the Weekend magazine with today's Eastern Daily Press but annoyingly the article isn't online. He's promoting The Cribs gig at the UEA on Wednesday.

Inevitably they ask him about The Smiths and he says his favourite album is Strangeways here we come. And about a reunion he says the usual I'm too busy etc.

    I don't really get the Cribs. I thought that
    they sound a bit stale with not a great lead vocalist.

    Not to my taste. I know that they have a lot of support and Mr Jarman is a local wakefield lad, which is good for the area plus he has a bit of a robbie william's swagger about him and a cool look, but I just don't get them, sorry.

  • Wow, I was surprised Johnny chose "Strangeways..." as his favourite Smiths album. I do think it's an underrated album, but it's an uneven album.
