I think Pete's anger is out of proportion to the actual occurrences.

I also think that threatening Morrissey (or any other musician) really is not in Pete's best interest.

There is a flip-side, however. If an artist knows that a fellow artist or collaborator has a drug problems--then it is best to be supportive however possible. Being supportive shows class.

Unfortunately, we don't know what support Morrissey may or may not have given Pete. For Pete to cry now seems a bit lame. There seemed to be times when Pete when WAY out of his way to glorify his drug abuse--that is only my opinion.

The second will be completely musically forgotten in 10 years. His music is OK, but if it were not for his drug abuses and famous girlfriend, he wouldn't make any frontpage.

I like that man and hope he survives long enough to look back in embarrassment. His propensity for lengthy, detailed fantasies probably got him where he is today.

this guy does a pretty good job of embarrassing himself. I've seen his crusty face on more gossip blogs than I've heard about his music.

So many many cliché Morrissey fans here I see unsurprisingly, standing behind theyre beloved Morrissey (e.g their only claim to have the right of criticizing others, this “us and Moz” attitude), that’s the ugly thing with Moz fans, a vulgar hollow arrogance. It must be understood that just because Morrissey has read many a book and can scribble a decent set of lyrics doesn’t mean that he knows everything! Pete Doherty is a brilliant songwriter and essentially his music has real purpose and meaning, he is a poet. But I suppose most of you are ignorant (gasps of disbelief leave the mouths of the Moz party) and the only image you know of P. Doherty is the one the media has painted. I’m a huge admirer of what Moz does too by the way.

I've been close to Pete once and indeed he did smell of sweat, stale alcohol and unwashed clothes. He had dirt under his finger nails. He was wearing tarnished cheap old silver jewellery and his fingers were nicotine stained. He looked a right state.

It's interesting to see that Morrissey still attracts a straight edge crowd. I thought that goofy sub culture went out in the 90's with Vegetarianism, and prayer.

It seems to be the only puritanical torch that the cardigan wearing Morrissey fans have left. Since the whole celibacy thing become old hat, the only thing that modern Morrissey puritans are left with is the whole matriarchal anti-drug stance.

It's unfortunate. I though the only bright spot in Morrissey's career these days is the shedding of the more self-righteous fans that characterized his early solo years.
