Kind of disappointed--wanted Brenda Blethyn to play Ida. She seems perfect for it. As far as Dallow, Spicer, Pinkie, Cubitt...who knows.

I'll be interested to see Andrea Riseborough in the role as Rose, a character with a pure heart of gold, and in my opinion would steal many a scene for those of us who are well familiar with this novel.

Why is that as soons as Hollywood (or in this case prob. the BBC) get their hands on classic flicks to remake, they always come out HORRRRID?
Please leave these movies alone. Can you imgaine a Casablanca remake?
