by some amazing feat of faith and perseverance

we have made it to the end of the years of refusal tour.

not without a few speed bumps of course. but as far as i know, there were no arrests and no trips to the emergency room. not to say injuries were not sustained, but a few scrapes and bruises are to be expected. ( that being said, i haven’t heard the full account of last night’s end of tour blow out, which ended for me by man-handling certain band members into the hotel lift to protect them from our rage filled taxi driver ....)

the last 2 shows were great. i personally think the set we’ve been doing is pretty challenging for the audience, especially for those who are not hard core fans. but from the people i spoke to after the show it seems we held our own and then some. a couple of glamorous moments were had as well. at the after show on tuesday night i had the pleasure of spending a few minutes speaking with stella mccartney and liv tyler, who were both very beautiful and very sweet. and last night, we were introduced by one of my musical heroes, chrissie hynde. that’s pretty damn hard to top.

last night, m asked us what our favorite show of the tour was. for me, our 2 nights at the barrow-lands in glasgow stand out, as well as the whole german run. maybe bremen?

warsaw was quite good as well. so, i guess i don’t really know. in the few weeks i’ll poke around youtube and see what’s out there. my brain is fuzzy and my body is worn down but my heart is buzzing in anticipation of getting home and reuniting with my family.

    I can't believe Moz played so many shows and through postponements and other misfortune I didn't see one of them. Sob. :(

    Here's hoping for better luck later in the year.

    BTW, that many shows for someone who gets slagged off for being unfit, past it, etc.? Not bad going, I reckon.

      I never pegged Walker to be a sensitive, slightly intuitive-sounding, heartfelt writer.

      Guess I was wrong.

      Now, I think I've gone from neutral to kind of liking him.
      Loved the "buzzing" part. Very, very good.

            The best part of a Morrissey tour is... (Score:1, Insightful)
            This was a great tour. I went to 1 show. It was the show in Austin, Texas and I had great time. The best part of any Morrssey show is being around other Morrissey fans. Somtimes being a Moz fan makes you feel like you're on an island. So many times I hear, "Morrissey? You mean Jim Morrison?" or someting stupid like that. Then I go to a show and there are hundreds or thousands of Morrissey fans there and it's like, where have these people been all of my life? Then the show ends, the tour ends and it's back to the island. But it's still good to get away for a while. Thanks for the escape Moz. Hope to see you in 2010!

            Matt is a great guy and an extremely hard-working, dedicated musician. Thoughout the tour, instead of partying afterwards (or leaving the parties early?), he went straight back to his hotel room to work on more music with his own project theMDR. Imagine that after a full night of sweating drums, cymbals and gongs for the Mozzer!

              A tour "ending" without any west coast dates?

              Say it ain't so Moz! At least schedule a few dates then cancel them at the last minute, that will at least make us feel part of the mix.

              What are those dates in October in England later in the year anyway? A different tour?

              From the sounds of it the autumn gigs are not gonna be part of the yor tour. So mr M what you gonna play? After being at Brixton on the Tuesday I was pleasantly surprised that Moz still has the va va voom. A legend in his living room. And mine. Oh and do a few dates in South America. Some of us will come

                Thats the end of the 'Years of Refusal Tour' then - with suprisingly not a huge amount of material being played from that album beyond those already introduced during the 'Greatest Hits Tour'.

                      haven't been to a moz gig before
                      (before anyone steps in to say where have you been i'm only 16)
                      i was gutted birmingham got cancelled
                      however i got tickets for the echo as well
                      so both shows should be good

                      as for the setlist he has a fantastic back catologue behind him
                      yet why does he play so many songs from you are the quarry?
                      its not bad stuff but personally
                      i want there is a light and international playboys back!
                      and maybe national front disco would be nice

                        I´ve just finished re re re reviewing the videos and the photos that i captured in Frankfurt and Koln and i already miss you Moz.
                        Can´t wait to see you in the next show wich i hope that it takes not too long.
                        Can´t imagine my life nowadays without your music.
