Johnny Marr is at #12.

Mentions Morrissey:

"A friendly sort, the only person who apparently won't work with him anymore is the man who needs him most. But then again if Morrissey and Marr were to join forces once again and the results turned out anything less than wonderful (a very likely scenario if history be one's guide in these matters) it would make both men look incredibly foolish. And we know Morrissey would never do anything that anyone would ever consider foolish."

  • I've never even heard of the top 2 in that list. It must mean they suck, because I know quite a lot about music.

  • ....is fucking brilliant.

Marr is a better guitar player than Morrissey is a singer.

  • Not again! Lists, lists, lists. As an artist, if I was anything but Number 1 on one of these things, I would be grossly insulted. What purpose do they serve? Yamaha

  • Cannot believe Bert Jansch is not that list, cosidering the likes of Johnny Marr, Jimmy Page etc literally took so much from the guy.
Then again these lists are always 'blues heavy' cause that's the only way to play guitar isn't it!

Oh dry the fucking eyes! For 20 years Morrissey has had a career, which has been more succesful than Johnny's. Make no bones about it, Johnny has missed Morrissey more than Morrissey has missed him!

  • ....I was expecting a dumb list but the writer put in a few funnies!!

"Johnny Marr can, and will, play with anyone"

"the only person who apparently won't work with him is the man who needs him most"

"Morrissey would never do anything that anyone would ever consider foolish"

    Gold!!

  • No place for George Harrison? What kind of a list is this? Or is this yet another case of some music critic trying to sound "original" by not including anything by the Beatles, because in their warped minds it might seem somewhat "cool" to ignore the obvious superiority of The Beatles

  • no George Harrison?? This is utter drivel.

  • Morrissey would never do anything foolish?

Does this person know anything about Morrissey's career in the past 15 years?

Morrissey's buffoonish ass shot alone amounts to a career's worth of embarrassment.

Sonic missteps are easily forgotten, but the execution of a Britney Spears type antic never loses its strength.
