Live Nation Punishes the Biggest Fans
I among many other fans bought the "10 SHOWS" package for the Palladium. When October 2 and 4th were cancelled, the press release said "your tickets can be used for EITHER Oct. 8th or 9th."

Turns out, this was complete bullshit (if you bought the 10 show). I went tonight, with 4 tickets for tonight, and 4 of my (NEVER USED, NEVER WAS-A-SHOW) tickets for Oct. 2.

The Oct. 2nd tickets were rejected at the door, and I was sent to BUY NEW TICKETS at the box office. (I had brought 8 friends, using the tickets from the first cancelled night, and valid ones from tonight).

Apparently, the only tickets that WEREN'T GOOD FROM THE CANCELLED SHOWS, were those bought as part of the 10 show package.

So -- basically. LIVE NATION chose to screw those fans who went out of their way to buy every show in advance.

If anyone else in in the same position, let me know.

It takes guts to be gentle and kind,

Thomas Lennon (Lt. Dangle from Reno 911!)

make sure you are prepared to repurchase your tickets at the box office for $57, cash only! I tried to gain entry to tonight's performance only to be told at the door that i would have to re-purchase a ticket and i would receive a refund for the two cancelled shows after the 13th. ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN INSANE!

  • A real bitch. Ticketbastard at their best. They just turned out their greatest backstabbing performance of the year.

Not so much as an email, nor official word prior.

The "dime" pack should have been honored for these nights, especially since we are being charged for 'service' and their original BS promo that you buy 9 shows and get the 10th free.

    Truly...

Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free...
  • I am very fortunate that I did not have trouble using my tickets, but I realize that it was probably because the line I was in had no bar scan - they were just collecting the ticket stubs. Despite this, I am very saddened that so many people had problems.

As a consumer, I'm actually quite fed up with Ticketmaster's UNFAIR, DECEPTIVE AND MONOPOLISTIC BUSINESS PRACTICES!!

The promoters are just as bad. They need do a better job training and educating thier employees/contractors at the venues.

Something needs to be done. Perhaps this can be my next big cause. We shall see.

    Paying morrissey's bills since 1991!!!!!!
  • The 10-pkr's are not having to contend with twice as many people in the early entry line. Personally I prefer the refund. That is of course it is a FULL refund of all the miscellaneous fees. Does anyone know if this is not the case?

  • I love it!!!!

Pretty much sucks that it happened that way. I hope they do the right thing and at least reimburse for the difference of the discounted shows + for the cancelled shows. It's only right.

  • O.k. Here's how it goes. EVERYONE with a ten day package will get refunds for the 2 canceled nights MINUS the CONvenience charges. I don't know why they were telling everyone that it could be used for other nights cause those were only SINGLE ticket holders! Hope this clears things up. Farewell.

    p.s. see you all tonight!

  • We all are still getting a whole lot of Morressey with less competition for the rail, at a BARGAIN for whatever it nets to be. It was sad for me to show up yesterday with two people whose tickets were not honored. We had to dig for the "cash only" $57ea.. There must be people leaving who couldn't/wouldn't pay (again)..
    Anonymous -- Tuesday October 09 2007, @02:20PM (#277438)
  • You guys are pissed off and have every reason to be, but just think clearly and understand that Morrissey has absolutely NOTHING to do with your ticketbastard/livenation debacle. Agents, managers, touring companies, and ofcourse TICKETBASTARD, who plays the mastermind in all this.
    Sorry you guys got screwed.

  • LOL it is so damn funny to read the blog on morrissey-solo. Reading them about them bitchin and moaning about the refund of the last two shows were cancelled cause of safty reason at THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM. So they say that tixs will be honnored for last night and tonight show. As part of the package deal. So I asumed to say that they should have said only for single tickets holder. And not for the package deal.

  • I called them twice to reconfirm that last week's Tues/Thurs season tix would be good these couple of days and both times they said "Yes," even confirming higher up with their own Customer Service division. So I let my friend know she could take her husband and not get an extra ticket (he could have gotten the $25 had we known) and we got frisked and everything then were turned out to the box office to pay $57 cash for her husband's ticket because they wouldn't take the cancelled show ticket I had for him. We then had to get back in line and get frisked again. Our tickets were both scanned and torn when we finally got in.

Palladium box office says last week's cancelled season tickets are going to be automatically refunded after the last show.

Say, did Thomas Lennon really intend for his personal e-mail address to be made public here on Morrissey-Solo?

P.S. By the way, today just happens to be the anniversary of the birth of John Lennon.

  • Comedy Central must not pay that much.

That's what happens when several hundred Moz fans wash the hair grease from their hands after touching up their quiffs. it causes the sewer to clog and back up.

Oh well. They might as well give SOME value for the canceled shows.

  • say they have received calls from other customers about the cancellations but they never received word of any cancellation! This is such bull...they said they will have to investigate. Obviously if many people are calling for a refund it is for a reason. I'm so sick of dealing with them but those bastards have a monopoly on the industry. I just want my f'm money back.

that really really sucks about the Ticketbastard situation....I am so glad I'm not attending these shows! I have my happy happy Fillmore memories and those are more than enough!

I hope you're enjoying the shows you have/are attending!

  • I was screwed too, I posted an email dialoge in the morrissey solo section where Live Nation wrote to me telling me the TEN pack would be honored for the canceled dates-the following 8th and 9th. In fact I clarified twice for him that my tix were unique.

I was so convinced I posted on the threads! Then I learned they lied to me. The posted apology rreally does not help but a free night of Moz for two would.
