The line-up for the Wireless Festival was posted on nme.com earlier. It looks like Morrissey is not going to play after all. Shame.

  • Do you think we will see him this year back home in Britain?

I am human and I need to be loved, just like everybody else does.
  • The 02 Wireless Festival in Hyde PArk is a soul-les corporate affair. I'm Glad Morrissey is not doing it. It really is a BORING day out/ festival. Loads of bored London people coming to Hyde Park for a day out. They can have Coldplay instead!

  • He won't be playing any of the festivals this year will he? He'll be cream crackered after the US tour looking to work on new material surely - hopefully with Alain and Boz and not Jesse Come Lately

"I hope it's not too bloody - I'm wearing my favourite pants."
  • There was an article by Shane Hegarty about the current pope's views on music festivals recently in the Irish Times. Of Pope Benedict XVI, he says that he's always preferred Bach to Bachman-Turner Overdrive. In 2000 the Pope claimed that "rock music is the expression of elemental passions" and that rock festivals are cultic and at odds with Christian worship. "People are, so to speak released from themselves by the experience of being part of a crowd and by the emotional shock of rhythm, noise and special lighting effects. However, in the ecstasy of having all their defences torn down, the participants sink as it were, beneath the elemental force of the universe" (isn't this what happens at Pentecostal services and the like too?) The journalist comments wryly, "sounds like a great gig."

  • Hasn't anyone noticed that Morrissey's US tour clashes with the O2 Festival?

(This means he can not possibly do the O2 Festival)
