  • He didn't have to move away from L.A. in order to get a new address that would (hopefully) remain a secret.

  • not that i think stalking celebrities should ever be encouraged but morrissey didn't help himself by showing off his house on the documentary 'the importance of being morrissey'. i actually remember thinking, when i was watching that documentary that, being such a private person, he might end up regretting letting a camera crew into his house - in fact i wonder why he did that. does anyone know? has he ever said why he allowed that to happen?

  • I've heard so many stories of people hanging out in front of his house that I'm surprised he didnt leave sooner. I always hoped I could catch him at a show or at a bar or something but never did it cross my mind to go to his residence and sit for hours for the off chance that he might let me shake his hand. I would'nt feel comfortable meeting him under such circumstances. People took advantage of his kindness and I guess it's better that he left before things got ugly (as if folks camping outside of your home is'nt ugly enough).

  • but you can't hide. Me and my 12 Mexican brothers
and all of our 78 children have just got asylum
in Italy. We hope you have a nice big lawn and
plenty of parking. Don't worry you'll need us when the lean years are upon you again after this record tanks.

  • he actually published Morrissey's address in his book...and when did that book come out? around the end of 2004? and when did morrissey move? early 2005?

    funny that!

and all because David couldn't think of a real reason for anyone to buy that turd of a book.

i'm sure that morrissey still has a residence in LA (where else is he going to put all that stuff?), but i'm sure that he's going to pretend for all intents and purposes that he split town for good so that people don't go looking for him.

  • Although his house was beautiful and had history and it is a shame shameless fans ruined his privacy, he'll be happier. LA is a rather souless American, a bit of a bore actually. As is evidenced by his ability to wander about in Roma, such a place can reinvigorate a person.

  • sure people knew where he lived, but this information for this article sounds fake. Moz has always stated his desire to move to rome was because he was 'taken' by it and thought it was a spectacular city. Recently he has always talked negatively about LA, saying that it is more like a police state than anything, etc etc etc.

  • I thought he had also already said in another interview somewhere that he wanted to leave LA because it was like living in a police state. He also said that he would leave the US if George Bush was voted in. I am sure it is horrible having people outside your house all the time but I think there were many other reasons for leaving LA and the US.

  • ...when trolls go on about how awful and rude Morrissey is (well, I also think "stupid fucking trolls," but anyhoo):

    http://www.geocities.com/palare/zmoz1.html

But I suppose it got to be a bit too much for Moz. I get the impression Morrissey saves the attitude for record execs, journalists, Mike Joyce, and the like. To his fans, he appears to be consistently gracious.

  • Come on.....The article is very vague and I believe its a only based on the authors opinion. Adresses are easy to find for stars (ESPECIALLY in LA). I'm sure he had other reasons.
