Today's Guardian features a ROTT review and awards it 5/5. It's quite significant coz the same reviewer actually gave Quarry a 2/5 grilling. See the following link:

  • That is lovely! ...and witty!

  • In an unrelated and probably redundant note, in the Johnny Marr FAQ on his website, Marr sings the praises of Morricone long before ROTT was even conceived...I wonder what he thinks of the Moz/Morricone collaboration?

  • It is strange to think of all those people out there reading this review and thinking about... Morrissey's testacles. I don't know what to make of that. The review is lovely, but, unless you are at least something of a Morrissey fan, I don't think that this will send people running to the shops...

If Moz did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
  • The songs are ridiculous (in the best sense of the word) and utterly moving. Absurdity was never so well, and wittily, articulated. Perhaps Moz's finest hour.

  • "Hear me now,
    from difficult child
    to spectral hand
    to clawed brassiere,
    blah blah blah..."

Surely not. Terribly funny if true though.

  • Barring only the event that Jamie Oliver and Bono collaborate for a charity single, 'In The Future When All's Well' is going straight to number one.

  • Did anyone get it today? I even bought the 7' too even though I don't have a turn-table! They look good and sound great. "Good-Looking Man About Town" is a raunchy quirky song, very sexy yet self-deprecating. And "Human Being" is assertive, demanding acknowledgement. Surely this is a big event that we should be talking about as the main topical item?
