Hi, check Morrissey Daily, March 15. Word Mag's review of ROTT is glowing.

  • Soundwise, I'm waiting for the official release to pass judgement. Emotionally, however, I agree with this review - I've only heard the album once, but there is an emotional maturity, honesty and intensity (tempered by humor, of course) that just melts my heart.

If Moz did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
  • Oh, I know, it's because it's a good review. The trolls only come out for the bad ones.

  • Word on listening to ROTT:

"This feels like you're standing in the hot glare of a brilliant mind that is working overtime."

    Great review.

  • I've been listening to the leaked record and I must say I just don't get the people that don't like it. It's fantastic, even with the poor sound quality of the mp3s. Up to track 7 it's a perfect record. There are minor bumps in the road from that point on, but it's up there with the best of his records. Well, I must add that I'm in the minority that ranks Southpaw Grammar as one of Morrissey's best ever, if not my favorite. Seems to me that ROTT has a little of every Moz period in it. Life is a Pigsty is pure genius.
Guitars in some tracks are weak, a little average. Only one thing kept popping into my mind while listening to this record: IF ONLY BERNARD BUTLER WAS IN THE BAND.
    Now THAT would be great.
Just close your eyes while listening to it and imagine the kind of work Bernard did in Suede but over this tracks.
If I was religious I'd pray for it to happen some day.
