Franz Ferdinand set for tiny London gig - virgin.net music news

Excerpt:
Scottish indie favourites Franz Ferdinand have announced plans to play a very intimate show in London next week.

The band, who are heavily tipped to be headlining this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, will play a three-song set at the 300-capacity KOKO venue in Camden on Monday (March 13) as part of a new Channel 4 TV show.

...Other acts lined up to appear on the show in forthcoming weeks include Goldfrapp, U2, Snow Patrol, MORRISSEY, Richard Ashcroft, Pink, Will Young, Sugababes and Maximo Park.

  • I think the promoters, as usual, are throwing names out there to get attention. U2 are definitely not doing that show. They've just had to cancel the 4th leg of their Vertigo tour because of family illness and didn't have anything planned beyond April(when their last show would've been).

Also, look at Morrissey's current tour...it's pretty packed. Where would he fit that show in???

  • erm... Koko is at least a grand I reckon. Not that it matters, but it's not like it's like at Barfly or summat. It's about the same size as some of the smaller venues he's playing outide London...

  • He is apparently playing on the 27th March. Broadcast a week later I guess. Same night as the yeh yeh yeh's. Worst of all I could get on the guest list but I wont be in London that week. Double drat.
