Check out eBay at the moment...

They have Alan Winstanley's 1 sided promo of 'November the 2nd' which is one of those 'lost' tracks. Apparently Morrissey ordered them all destroyed... this buyer wants £3000!!

eBay Item number: 4843046860

Happy bidding! Maybe if I had a million in the bank....

  • "was owned by M.R Winstanley himself..."
    I thought his name was Alan--not M.R.

Some people may scoff at this kind of nitpicking, but I believe these kinds of intentional errors give scam-artists greater legal leverage.

The auctioner might someday rightfully assert "I never said it was owned by Alan Winstanley; I said it was owned by M.R Winstanley: Michael Richard Winstanley. Mike was an EMI janitor at the time."

Another nitpick. The auctioner writes, "Please be assured and bid..." Please be assured of what? That it's a fake?

If this isn't a scam, it makes me shudder to think someone with such piss-poor grammar might possibly make 3000 pounds via one badly mangled Ebay auction listing.

  • morrisseymadness had the exact same description as the auction. ridiculous prices on the site and the auction. be sure to also get a 'certificate of authenticity'... since mike always gives those out when he sells signed items.. that pile of shite.

Life is too short for crap music.
  • So, can someone verify that November the 2nd is in fact just a remix of November Spawned a Monster? Someone on the general board has uploaded a file said to be from an original DAT from EMI.

    Also from the board:
On the topic of this question.. Remember when the 4 song CD sample that was supposed to be released with the Suedehead, best of Morrissey CD. Michale Legg had one, and it has November the 2nd on it.

I am sure more people have some copies, and they didn't all get destroyed.

Look for threads 'hear november the second' and 'november remix?'.

  • Well, there'a a remix posted on the forum and no one knows if is just a crap rmx or November the 2nd. I'd like to know. Plus, Is that Mike from Morrissey-Madness out of his mind?? Girfriend in a Coma 12" for £99...hahahah, his English class must cost a fortune.

  • Is it safe to assume November the 2nd won't be played on the forthcoming tour? It's got as good a chance as This Charming Man.

  • By the way, all of his 'rare posters' that he lists every week are reprints.

  • There's a reason why these were destroyed and that's not due to CLANGER nor Winstanley.

Fools rush in and all that,

    Strawberry.

  • At least no-one was stupid enough to offer the twat £3000.

The A&M God Save the Queen 7" doesn't even go for that price, and that's probably the most sought after British single ever, so why would a dodgy promo of a Morrissey single be worth that.

Think I'll sell my vinyl Queen is Dead.
Starting bid £1500. Any offers ?
