While in London I saw a promo for the TV show The West Wing. Playing the background for at least 30 seconds of the promo was HSIN in its original version. I am a big fan of The West Wing but I don't see any connection to HSIN???

  • yes, I saw more connection between this song and a film in "Closer". This song seems to be regarded as a US promo track - used in a TV add for a car. I was so dumbfounded that I don't even remember what car was being sold...

  • Don't forget that the BBC have a blanket deal with the MCPS where they can use whatever music they like to promote their shows. Maybe the person at the beeb doing the trail was a Smiths fan. It wouldn't be the first time.

  • I just saw and heard that ad for the West Wing on Channel 4 (new grim docu-drama "The Road to Guantanamo" is being shown), and HSIN sounds terribly good, very dramatic and portending complicated serious shenanigans. It would be nice if this happened more, and ROTT songs, so atmospheric, would be often ideal, as well as being possibly promos within promos...?
