Pete Burns has found a new audience with his outrageous antics on Celebrity Big Brother. The John Blake blurb promises revelations about "major rock stars"; publication was originally slated for the 10th before being moved back ten days... I don't think the timing is accidental, put it that way.

I can understand Moz going out with him when Burns had some semblance of humanity and was male in the 19haties. Now, I think he'd run a mile.

I *seriously* doubt the credibility of this rumour, but it's interesting nonetheless.

If it does end up as a part of Burns' book, we'll get a better idea of the truth if Morrissey launches legal action or simply sits back and says nothing.

I have no idea if this leak is true or not but during the time this relationship, if it existed, is likely to have occurred Pete was almost inhumanly beautiful (he still is beautiful IMHO, but I recognise that not everyone agrees.) Why would anyone "barf" at the suggestion ?

I have an old Smiths bootleg somewhere with Pete Burns singing Barbarism Begins at Home with Moz. This might be old news for many of you, but I didn't see anyone mention it so I thought I would.

Ironic -- I've been saying how hard it is to believe that nobody has spilled the beans about Morrissey's private life in 23 years. This could be it, or, maybe not.

I get the feeling it would trouble some of you to no end if these two had got together (in all ways) in the 80s. Is it because they're both men, or becaues it's Pete Burns, or...? Will you stop buying Morrissey CDs and dump the ones you already have? Really, now...

I recall Morrissey's mentioning in an interview that he was very angry with that article and that it was a complete misrepresentation of what went on. The author of the article apparently wanted to make Morrissey and Burns look like Julian and Sandy from Around the Horne or something.

Burns is nothing more than a sycophantic slag trying to jump on some free publicity from the main man.

This is more sales for Pete's book though which is good.

People who slag off Pete for his career- at least in his autobiography he won't be writing about being dropped by several record companies and his 7 years in the wilderness like The Man will have! Seek the truth before you just blindly criticise.

The truth seems to be that Morrissey had a bit of a fatuation with Pete "foreskin-lips" Burns back in the 1980's. Burns has in his possession lots of letters penned by Moz, expressing his deep and ardent feelings for the seal faced freak.
But the admiration was only from afar, and no consensual bum sex was established.

I have been a Morrissey fan as long as I can remember and I know that they were good/close friends in the early 80's.

As far as I know Pete was married to wife Lynne for over 25 years until last year. But I have also heard rumours (these are rumours) that Pete has been a bi-sexual well, for all his life. I think there was a time when Pete shared his house with BOTH his wife Lynne and a male partner - Bizarre Love Triangle eh?
I know people are now attacking Pete for spilling the beans but I personally LOVE him. He is such an outstanding, unique, witty, warm and intelligent bloke. A bit like Morrissey really, never compromise, never sell-out, always sticks to his guns.

All I can think of is that Morrissey has always been drawn to the "outsiders", misfits and the under dogs and perhaps they had an "affair" of some sort in the 80's. Morrissey likes Strong outstanding (or unusual) characters. Also they were both from up north at the time so maybe they shared the same experience of being famous.
