Ticketmaster and see tickets is impossible but I just got tickets in the stalls for the lowry, via www.thelowry.com.

I got some of the last stalls so try now and you may be lucky. seems quicker than see and ticketmaster.

The Manchester gigs, and in fact most other gigs in the country were all gone by 9:20 this morning. Judging by the activity on e-bay, it looks like the bastard scum touts have struck again. At least I managed to get one (I wanted two) but a lot of people are going to be truly disappointed...

  • I overslept and rushed downstairs at 10.15 swearing like nobody's business.

Had a few to pick from on Seetickets at 10.20. Went for Halifax on my birthday.

All the good ones were gone though. Looks like it'll be tout time for me at The Lowry.

    And liverpool Phil.

    And Manc Opera House.

And Paladium. ...Goodbye kidney my old friend.

  • I tried both Ticketmaster & The Lowry websites @ 9am (2am my time) & gave up on Ticketmaster. But I was able to get 10th row stalls at the Lowry. Now all I need is Glasgow (standing) & Whitehaven. Help anyone?

  • Just live with it, they'll always be around as long as there are so many people who want to see Morrissey.

Boycotting them sounds ideal but it's not gonna happen. At least nowadays they can only buy 4 tickets at a time, I remember the same wankers selling a dozen or so on e-bay while me and my mates had backrow tickets at the MEN 45th birthday gig.

Not letting in people whose cards don't match their credit cards is no answer either, it hurts those who buy from touts (desperate fans just like us) more than the touts themselves, how about mugging touts though, and distributing the tickets to ticketless fans in return for a pint?

  • I managed to get standing Apollo tickets from ticketmaster.co.uk at 8.56am then good Opera House circle tickets exactly 10 minutes after that. I was already logged in with my username and on the Morrissey ticket page which I just kept refreshing every few seconds. I was at work from 8.30am (and wide awake from 4.30am following a nightmare about not getting tickets). My friend already had tickets reserved through a corporate arrangement for the Bridgewater Hall so I'm eternally grateful to him for those. I missed the Arena gig last time (and more before that from being too skint to attend) so this I think is my reward for fifteen years of loyalty. I'm so sorry for the people who didn't manage it or who will pay the touts, I've been there so many times, and it's f***in awful.

  • Again, this begs the question that Morrissey needs to get his house in order. We were lucky in 2004 in that the festivals, the MEN gig and the Earls Court show soaked up a lot of his casual fans, leaving room at the smaller venues for more hardcore supporters.
2005 has been ridiculous - Ticketmaster was worse than useless, and it was only persevering with gigsandtours that I was able to get anything, even if it will mean a day out to Truro and Grimsby.
A pre sale allocation, to 'fan club' members or a members only lottery or even a season ticket system has to be the way forward. I am sure Morrissey wants his tickets going to the people who put him where he is today, rather than some bandit who is banging out tickets at £200 a pop on ebay.

  • just reading all the comments about touts which I agree with completely but... just look at the relative number of tix on ebay from touts - not that many relative to the total number available. Perhaps some of you oh-so-caring-tout-hating Moz fans who've bought yourself tickets for multiple venues will share your tickets with those who have none at all. Hmmm, I doubt it somehow. The internet ticket agencies were not going slow simply cos of touts, it was also the vast number of people going around the venues buying more and more tickets for themselves. So, ticketless people, forget the touts - I suggest venting a little spleen of the selfish fans who are hogging far more tickets than the touts are.

This would have been my first ever missed tour. Intimate regional venues I've been to include: the Ilford Island moshpit (Mozzer), Ipswich Gaumont circle(Smiths), and The Rialto stalls in Derry (Mozzer) all of which were stand-out, all-time life-changing events, even more so than some of the massive city gigs, eg Earl's Court. • before 2004, he probably had a national live audience of about 20,000 people and, since YRTQ, it has become somewhere in the region of 50,000 to 100,000.
so this scale of tour would not have sold out straight way (if at all) back in the pre-2004 (good old?) days.
don't panic though. Moz loves being able to play to arenas and I'm sure he'll want to enjoy his new found UK popularity with some big shows later in the summer if not around the April/May time.
people often buy tickets for these little shows without knowing that they and their friends can definitely go so tickets from fans will inevitable appear on websites like this nearer the time. what's more, the genuine fans won't be looking to make a profit.

  • I tried to get tickets to Manchester gigs at the Lowry and Bridgewater Hall after ringing round to find out which of the Manchester venues actually had their own allocated tickets and weren't just wired up through computer to ticketmaster etc, like everyone else, and was told by those two venues they did and there would be a good chance if you turned up in person you'd get tickets, yet when I got (fairly early) to both venues, found that the queues were well scallied up with little hoody twats and girls in their best Primark gear buying 4 tickets at a time and then taking them to some cunt sat in a blue SUV (reg MJ53 HOA, if anyone should see it and want to put a brick through the windscreen). There must have been about 40 of them all round his car, which, at four tickets each means 400, so no wonder that each venue was sold out after 20 minutes and only a half to proper Morrissey fans. Yet almost equally annoying was that, when I remonstrated with the people at both venues, they told me the same thing, which was firstly that they only had a small number of tickets allocated them because it was up to the promoters themselves who organised the gigs to decide which tickets go where and they'd decided most should go to ticketmaster, and secondly, despite people being stood in the queue, some for over an hour, they were still selling their meagre allocation to people online at the same time, which means you were better off staying at home, in the warmth, and getting them on the computer.

The touts all know that people tend to panic buy for the first couple of days following the sale of tickets.. hence the 1 and 3 day listings on eBay.
If you have not got them today, just wait.
I'd much rather turn up outside every gig in the country with no ticket than pay some tosser £100 for a £32 ticket (which a lot of them have not even got). I can almost guarantee that tickets will slowly come down in price as every week passes.
In my experience, there are often tickets going for a tenner five minutes before the doors open.

Sit tight and you just might.
