Ooooh, that felt goood, Witz.org! I hope, although I am not so out of touch to know it is not like in the 'old days', that the legacy of The Smiths is still alive in as many teenagers today as possible. Teenagers are always marvelously equipped with that outsider's vision - the one who hasn't been contaminated with the oppressing weight of convention - and they are thus the best audience for our always 'misfit'Moz to target. I loove the details on the article, such as the cup of tea as a pathetic resort of the school director too keep appearances - it sounds so much like the same comic stiffness that made me laugh when I saw Ionesco's play, La Cantatrice Chauve (I won't dare to translate that), which is the playwrite's satire of this same kind of situation this adolescent is experiencing. Morrissey said once "It is the moral duty of the current generation to smash (or flatten) the preceeding one". But I am translating it from the language I lived with at the time I read this sentence, so pardon me any inaccuracies...But I hope Morrissey is still nourishing our youngest misfits, who are the blossoms of change!
