You might as well get your suicide notes ready because it looks like the James Maker album is not gonna happen. Oh and I know this because he sent me an email. But before you end it all you might want to check out James MySpace page and download a few tunes.

  • Yeah I got that email too... Quite annoyed, I love 'Maitresse' so much, it's my most played song in both iTunes and my iPod. Ah well, can't be too sad, now 'Ringleader...' is well on its way!

  • if you don't mind my asking, why exactly was the album dropped? isn't it possible that it may be released through some other record company?

was this a solo album or to be released as "frankenstein"?

  • Looks like it's been taken down.

Hope Mr. Maker gets a new account soon.

Only when I'm dancing can I feel this free...
  • May I remind you the present situation of Sanctuary ? Launching an album involves a huge financial investment to secure sales and profit. In bad times, companies do what they have to do : cut the costs ; which, in the present case, means not releasing albums that might not sell well.

And I don't believe James Maker is entitled to sell more than, say, 10 000 copies worldwide in a year. Nancy herself probably achieves more symbolic recognition by the critics than actual public success.

But, then again, I'm no Morrissey, not even Attack Records nor Sanctuary. So if Nancy has demos, please send them over, it will be my pleasure to listen very carefully :D
