The Music That Changed My Life - Spin

On the tail end of his band's whirlwind tour for the double-platinum Hot Fuss, the Killers' frontman talks about how David Bowie, Jim Croce, and Frank Sinatra shaped his rock'n'roll evolution.

Morrissey, Vauxhall and I (Sire, 1994)

"It's my favorite Morrissey album. I became one of the Morrissey freaks -- I had every Smiths album and every Morrissey album. I understand how people could listen to it and feel morose, but it made me happy. He has a sense of humor, and I'm a sentimental person, so I got it. It didn't make me want to wear all black."

  • After all his success, it's way cool Mr Flowers still references Moz. I still remember when The Killers opened for Moz at the LG in LA & thinking this band is not so bad. I had no idea they would blow up like they did. So...

    Viva The Killers!!!

  • After a huge success with their debut album, instead of trying to just put something out so they can keep it all rolling, they are taking their sweet time recording their next cd. I think its important to take your time and get out a good CD in due time.

The odd thing is that the Killers actually just threw the first cd together so they could get out and tour.

For me, I really like Andy, You're a Star

The Killers first album is a good one. It's not great but at least you can listen to the whole thing.

That cute little fucker has absolutely NO way with words ('cept for his lyrics, and MAYBE that's all that matters...). So why do I continually find his comments SO ungodly adorable? 'I'm a sentimental person, so I got it.' Awwww.

Mr Brightside will always be on my list of greatest singles ever, and god, how much I do love Under the Gun. Heaven sends, and heaven takes...
