Satan accepted mine writes:
Morrissey fans used as an analogy in ‘Score’, the football supplement.

I was on my way to the match on Sunday, cacking my pants that the unthinkable and unbearable could happen and the Hicks from Sunderland could beat the magnificent Newcastle when I found us Morrissey Fans mentioned in the News of the World football report of the match between Blackburn and Birmingham.

It was by a journalist called Jim Keat who wrote (about a crap game):

‘….The signs were ominous from the start, with Bruce (Birmingham Manager) claiming he was going back to ‘ugly’ football to turn things around. And, true to his word, the Blues (nickname for Birmingham) were uglier than the front row at a Morrissey gig’.

Tenuous I know, but it is not often Morrissey fans get mentioned in a sporting context. I can only assume he was talking about people to the left, right and behind me if he was speaking literally about the aesthetic features of Morrissey fans (he may have been talking of the crush and mayhem).
