Vesica Piscis' live performance features Morrissey banter

I came across this song called "This Song Is About Flagstaff" by the band, Vesica Piscis, and was quite surprised to find what sounded like live Morrissey banter sampled very near the start of the song. The rest of the song is disturbingly eerie (but in a good way!). I found the song here.

    What a lovely coincidence, I head this tune last Thursday whilst randomly browsing the world wide web of technology and scorn. Its utterly wonderful and i have already sent the artiste an email to state such.

    I'm sorry, but I listened closely and there is a voice that says something that can't be understood while someone is saying "This song is about Flagstaff" over and over and nothing else. How did you come to the conclusion that Morrissey's voice is in there somewhere? I suppose you could be right, but I don't hear it. Still...

    Pardon me for being cynical, but it's starting to seem like our Morrissey "news" is being relegated back to people sending in reports that they almost thought they might have almost heard someone else almost say something that almost sounded like something Morrissey could possibly say.

      This is in fact a verified Morrissey comment made at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ 2002, The first show of the tour. I was there and I have a bootleg of it so I know it to be true.

      I freaked out when I heard him say Flagstaff because that is where I was going to school at the time. It is so obscure how Moz knows little tidbits about everywhere he plays.

      It's definitely Morrissey. You can hear it when he says he's "from there". Awesome song! (You should listen to the whole song if you haven't; it is more clearly his voice if you listen to the ending part of the "sample".)

      also, it sounds like someone (not Moz) is saying Morrissey's name toward the middle of the end of the song, too. Anyone else hear it?

      How cool is that that they "sampled" (a musical folly I usually detest) Morrissey's voice?

        this song was the live improvisational finale to the jenn & amber festival at ft. tuthill, flagstaff, arizona.

        the performance was in the woods at night.
