Morrissey/Robbie Brits duet that never was - "I Like You"
posted by davidt on Friday February 11 2005, @09:00AM

Sir Alf writes:

On ITV2's atrociously cheap Brits backstage gossip programme (aired straight after the televised event itself) Robbie Williams proclaimed that he and Morrissey WERE due to perform a duet. The song was to have been "I Like You" ending with a Britney/Madonna style kiss between the two of them which Robbie was pleased to do, adding that he wasn't gay(!). But it all fell apart after Morrissey decided to pull out at the last minute. One can only wonder…

many will probably slag this proposed duet all over again, but i can't help thinking it would have been hugely entertaining. better than the david bedingfield and his sister anyway!
    shame it never happened.

Williams is a complete fantasist, and has a lot of "previous" to prove it. The closest this could possibly be to reality is they met, Moz said it as a joke, and then Robbie took it seriously. Morrissey would know all too well that would be the "kiss" of death.

A more charitible view is Robbie was joking himself, joking is such a nicer term than LYING.

But Robbie is obviously a very needy person and is constantly seeking attention from the press. He'll use any showbiz connections to get his name in the papers.

I don't think Morrissey needs to be dragged into that kind of world. We don't need to see quotes every day from Robbie revealing all about his best mate Moz.
