BBC Ceefax is reporting that Julien Temple, the director of a new film about the Glastonbury festival, is appealing for fans to get in touch if they have any footage of The Smiths' legendary Glastonbury performance from 1984.

There's an article about the film on The Guardian website with a contact address for anyone who may be able to help:

  • why exactly was this a classic or legendary performance by The Smiths? If I am correct Morrissey never liked his performance at Glastonbury. And seeing them that day wasn't really unique, as they played tons of gigs that year.

On a different note: they are asking for footage by the audience? This was 1984. Have they forgotten the size of a VHS camera in those days. Not exactly something you'd hide in your pants......
