My reliable, longstanding "All-Things-Moz" independent CD retailer in Melbourne just came back from a trip to LA, where he was lucky enough to catch up with Boz Boorer briefly through a mutual friend. I am told that when Boz heard that this guy ran an independent CD shop in Oz he enthusiastically enquired about a couple of hard to find CD's and was told he would try to hunt them down and send them over to him. Boz's response? "Don't worry about sending them, I'll come and check out your shop myself; we'll be in Melbourne touring in March or April next year." Fingers crossed...

.*.* I can smile about it now but at the time it was terrible *.*.
  • i wonder if moz knows that boz spilled the beans. i'm happy for the aussies though... although europeans are not going to be too happy, considering he hardly has done anything over there this tour. I'm in NYC, and would gladly fly to europe (if given time to save up) to see him again. Australia, no. =(

    blame me! i didn't vote!
  • is it possible that these australia shows could just be one leg of a larger tour? either way, if this is true it must mean that he will be playing the u.s. again at some point next year, and yes i agree that it would either be l.a. or nyc, which works for me!

  • My other half is an aussie and we booked flights out there for 2002. six months later Australian tour was announced! So saw Moz at the Albert Hall in Sept, went to Aus in Oct, landed in Perth (as planned) and saw gig that very night. The in-laws live in Adelaide so we flew there and I got to see him there as well! Best of all, due to a smallish following compared to UK/US (which i'm sure has increased!) I got straight to the front of the gig and shook hands with him at BOTH gigs!
Best gigs ever! Still it is £600 flight, risk of DVT and a month of the in-laws!

  • Where are all the Aussies rejoicing and getting completely carried away at this rumour?! In Melbourne too! Moz has done so many American dates, let us have our moment please!

March/April, mmm around my birthday! Exciting stuff, can't wait for some confirmation.

  • Last Australian tour (2002 I think) Moz and the lads got an amazing reaction from fans who had waited way too long for his return since the early 90's.

Shows were sell outs, reviewers were gushing and fans of all ages were grinning from ear to ear.

Please, please, please, let this rumour be true.

  • Perth in that tour - I know the last gig was a small one - but it was very intimate.....just perfect. I prefer that to big crowds.

  • I am forcing myself not to react to a "maybe" "possibly"......but it would be fantastic to see him again on this side of the globe!!

He did seem to enjoy himself in 2002 and the footage filmed in Melbouirne (and Sydney?) was used in "The importance of..."
