This week's NME features the question "What's on Auf Der Maur's stereo?" and Melissa replies thus:

"I've just downloaded everything into my iPod - but I'd say I'm listening to the new Morrissey album 'You Are The Quarry' in particular. I'm very excited about that one. The song 'I Have Forgiven Jesus' is so over the top and so clever and so insane".

I recall someone on another thread posting the idea that Melissa ought to produce Moz's next album - could be a cool idea since she would most likely bring a very welcome (to me at least) harder edge to the production.

Elsewhere in NME, Barry Nicholson reviews The Ordinary Boys' album and in the process describes 'The Queen Is Dead' as "staggering". But then we all knew that anyway.

Most entertainingly, however, there is a letter to NME (on the letters page, obviously!) which demands that Keane must write a letter of apology to Moz for "depriving His Royal Mozness of his rightful place in the hit parade" and must then go away and "crucify themselves" for "committing such a heinous crime on the human race or anyone who has the ability to listen to music". A bit OTT, but it made me laugh. Come on, admit, it was someone from this site wasn't it?!!
