Considering Meat is Murder is almost always played live, should Morrissey consider retiring it and make way to less played songs?

Oh no! It was great to hear it back in 99 and OK to hear it again in 02 but there are so many better Smiths songs that he hasn't played live for yonks, if at all.

On the 02 tour in El Paso, there was a load of us waiting in line outside to get in and security made one man who had run to go get mcdonalds cross to the other side of the street to eat because of moz's 'no-meat' policy. we all thought that was pretty lame...

Reminds me of the only time I watched Moz live. The guy next to me vomited all over the place during Meat is Murder. It probably had more to do with what he had been drinking than anything else, but it made me laugh.

Eating flesh is disgusting and I applaud when waves of mad cow disease strike at random. Well deserved. If you were dining on the body parts of my relatives who had been brutally tortured I would wish the same. When will humans evolve and progress? Not while they are playing vampire to every other species on the planet.
Sad sad sad. I ate dead animal flesh for many years and going vegan was the best choice of my life (outside of my wife). If you are too selfish to try it for the weaponless animals (because if they had opposable thumbs and some arms you would not torture and kill them so easily)then try it for your own health. Moving to a vegan diet cuts your risk of cancer by 37% and your risk of heart disease by 68%. These are factual numbers and heart disease is the #1 killer in the US. So eat a dead pigs ribs or cows abdomen and die or eat tons of delicious and healthy vegan choices and have a better chance of living the full legnth of this gift. What do you have to lose by at least attempting it? I did twice before it became my way of life.
I had seldom really felt joy in my life and could never understand why. Now I know why. I am so very gracious that Morrissey was one of the first people to make me think about it.

All this does suggest that the album itself will get a good rating when they review it which would have been unheard of two years ago.

Was The Brixton Academy the only venue on the 2002 tour where they sold hamburgers and fried hot dogs from a hot plate while his Lordship was on stage singing 'Meat Is Murder'?

Fine if I was there I'd just go outside the arena and buy my meat then take it inside :P

My final take on this subject is: Just don't ban the beer! Then we'd have a problem. When I go to concerts, that last thing on my mind is getting a burger or hotdog or popcorn or anything else....just a few drinks and a great show. Let's not let Morrissey's little obsession with meat upset us. As least he is passionate about his cause, but it should have no bearing on the event itself. Enjoy the show.

I don't understand people who don't like to eat meat. It's such a natural thing to do (don't you find?) Human race has always been eating meat. Lions do it, why can't we?

And all the things people do is 100% natural. Like driving a car or talking to mobile phone.

If something is natural (like killing) that doesn't mean it's a ok thing to do, and if something is unnatural(like buing a Morrissey CD) that doesn't mean it's immoral.

He's only banning manky burger vans! There are still plenty of places within a 300m radius of the venue to get your teeth into a juicy burger, or whatever fast food snack you desire.
