Neil G writes:

In the new Christmas edition of NME, there's an interview with Noel Gallagher who describes the recent Moz tour:

"I went to see Morrissey in Australia the other week and it was one of the best things I've seen in my f***in' life".

How about that!
Best Christmas wishes to all from Neil G

  • I totally agree with him, but in my case, it was Vegas both nights. And waaaay off topic, it's now a tie between watching the Rollins Band do Black Flag songs this week at the Whiskey. Maybe not so much off topic, as I think Morrissey once commented that Rollins "looked good" or something or other. Which I can't disagree with..still looks good now...BUT I digress

  • You know Noel G has an account here on Moz-solo. He's probably the one that sent the link!

    Ta!

  • Say whatever you like about Noel and his band but it's very rare anybody in a band has the balls to stand up for Morrissey, especially in my ex-fave music mag.....I'm quite touched by that comment and generally touched in the head too, well said Noel....I can only but agree.
    regards!

  • People slag off the two of them but it is very rare that anyone says what they are thinking these days, and its good to see L & N saying exactly what they want.

Noel is of course a big fan, and said on the VH1 Greatest Men chart that "I'd always fight his (morrissey's) corner"

How about a guest slot for him on the new album?? actually, maybe not...

  • I enjoy Oasis, but then again I never held them up as 'God's greatest gift'. If Noel enjoys Moz, good on him, but it is nice to hear a contemporary artist namechecking someone of real merit.

Music aside, Noel G. is probably one of the funniest musicians I have heard interviewed. On the recent Oasis Oz tour, he spoke at length regarding his car accident, and it was absolutely hilarious - not the incident, but the telling.

  • Noel says he loved Morrissey's recent Oz shows.

Can't blame him. The chance to see Morrissey in a nice hot country, stood in the audience, far away from home pressures.....

Must make a change from Cardiff on a December night, standing on stage, trying not to make eye contact with your brother.

Actually, I fucking loved Liam's behavior in Germany. Picking a fight with the Italian Mafia?! Sorry folks, whatever you think of Oasis, THAT is proper rock and roll.

Mind, Moz would have Liam sprawled on his arse. Seen the size of the Mozzer recently? All muscle. And experience.

    Cheers Kidders!

  • Saw Noel swanning about stage left at the Melbourne "Livid festival" gig. Alain made some appalling sycophantic comment about Oasis being "tops" which earned him one of the most withering looks I'm sure Moz has ever delivered. When Moz went to introduce the song after crashing "Crashing Bores", saying "speaking of crashing bores . . ." someone shouted out "Oasis!" (who had played the festival earlier). I only hope Noel heard it.
And by the way, Rollins' anti-Moz rant on the "Rage" show was completely vicious, highly personal, and enough to make a shy bald buddhist reflect and plan a mass murder, or at least burn all their "Black Flag" CDs - which is a course of action I recommend to all the Rollins-apologists here. If you claim to be a Moz and Rollins fan, you have a serious conflict of interest. Or schizophrenia. Or both.
His "poetry" is worse than the stuff most 13 year olds sensibly keep confined to their bedrooms, and his spoken-word performances are excruciatingly amateur and as funny and subtle as a car crash.
Rollins is the anti-Moz, and when the revolution comes this mound of testosterone is first against the wall!
If that's "Inflammatory" or "Offensive", then heck - so is Rollins!
