Boz behind bars!?

I've just heard on my local radio station that Boz Boorer has been arrested for drunk-driving. They said it happened a couple of nights ago and he's been discharged since but is now due to appear in court sometime early next year. Apparently he was pulled over doing about 85 m.p.h on a country lane. The station was interested because he was somewhere in the county at the time. They also said he was over here visiting his grandparents.

Update: 12/11 07:13 GMT: An email sent to the submitter of the item bounced back, so it's likely another hoax submission.

  • 'cos it lies. How come you don't say where 'here' is or even which county? I'm very circumspect about this report - the police don't make a habit of stopping people for speeding or drink driving in the UK. It isn't a priority.

  • it may be bad journalism but the story is kind of true. if you read boz's tour diary at his site he does say he got picked up for "speeding" whilst in australia. apparently driving b/w melbourne and adelaide between gigs (heaps of opportunity to speed btw!). he doesn't mention being under the influence but this happened in october and has possibly just gone to court. Boz is obviously not going to fly back to Oz for a speeding fine so who knows...there may be an element of truth in this story.

    and DO NOT pick on David Tseng. he does a fantastic job. so there.

    Sigh, I wish the tour was still on. There just seems so less to write about, hence my now-occasional postings.

  • This is so funny......... I can tell you all that Boz is not behind bars & did not get arrested for Drink Driving (he did drive in the bus lane on Finchley Rd last Thursday though). Naughty.
    The poor bloke has spent the last few weeks trying to fix his studio up that was very badly damaged in a serious flood when he was away on tour with Moz.
