There's a surprise appearance for Morrissey in The Sun's Bizarre column (Nov. 23, 2002):

Moz's bird

IF misery guts MORRISSEY is playing “name that tune” I reckon I’ve got it in one.

With his hands firmly clamped around Chloe the turkey’s neck, it has to be THE SMITHS’ classic Meat Is Murder.

The group’s former frontman wasn’t really playing charades – he was attending a dinner in Hollywood for animal welfare group PETA, where Chloe was the guest of honour.

Morrissey recently played the Royal Albert Hall in London, where fans included JONATHAN ROSS, DAVID BOWIE and VIC REEVES.

We meat again ... Morrissey and Chloe the turkey

I came across this picture of Moz on Yahoo News. It was under Yahoo's most popular section.

  • have morrissey's eyes ever been bluer?

also, doesn't it look like he's lost some weight during the tour? i mean, i've never been one of those people to say he was paunchy, but he does look decidedly slimmer to me.

anyway, the man is always beautiful and he's got a beautiful soul to match (as evidenced by his love for turkeys!)

  • hi
has anyone got the lyrics to irish blood english heart? cos i was listening to the janice long session the other day and in the 2nd verse he says 'irish blood irish heart' i thought that the actual lyrics were 'irish blood english heart' throghout the song, im sure they were on the tour. Well can someone tell me if mozza just sang it wrong on the janice long session or whether the 2nd verse IS actually 'irish blood, irish heart'. Thank you

Moreover, turkey in Brazil is slang for dick (turkey=peru) so hummm...I think my idol could have been more subtle.

  • I don't have the slightest problem with Our Lady Steven Patrick being in touch with his feminine side; be it donning gold lame shirts or wafting around in Dolce & Gabanna ladies perfume or indeed curling up on the non-PETA friendly leather sofa with a white pussy cat and a falling statue viz 70's TV ad for Cadbury's Cream Fry - but I do draw the line at St. Diana-isms such as feigning deep sincerity with head tilting at a 45 degree angle re: Diana's last and only television interview with Martin Bashir (see one of the pictures above).

Next he'll be borrowing Michael Stipe's blue eye shadow and black eyeliner for even more Diana-esque pity-and-sincerely-me-isms!

Words from the wise: Steven, hold your head straight, and keep your snout out of Princess Michael of Cunt's make up toolbox! That poor saint needs all the makeup he can get his hands on.

  • Everyone let's be a bit more positive! Morrissey's support of PETA is wonderful and terrific! You don't have to be a fan of Pam Anderson. You don't have to like L.A. You don't have to like Elton John. The point is standing up for something you believe in and celebrating life this holiday season. With so much negativity in the world today, PETA is refreshing. Morrissey's visibility through PETA is outstanding.
