Looks like Moz has been visiting Dublin again. See this article from Hotpress, Ireland's NME.

Anorak-spotting: Morrissey is seen catching a gig and getting sung to, a number of times, in the fair city

(davidt): I can't believe how far that Sanctuary rumor went.

  • Wow! Morrissey in a gay bar, though this sounds like a sort of a hip hangout for the "straights" as well. This celeb-sighting would have been made even more interesting if this newspaper spelled the performer's name right: Vada Bon Reve.

What does "chuffed" mean, though. And I'm afraid to ask about "beano"...

Does Dublin have a cool gay scene?

Apparently everybody reads NME, so everyone believes by now that Morrissey signed (or is still talking) with Sanctuary.

In other boards I've been telling people that no, it was a rumour but up to now Morrissey does not have any deal.
And people from other boards have been telling me some interesting stuff too, what explains my next question: though it's a bit off-topic (yes please someone score me as off-topic please, don't miss that chance!), has anyone here heard anything about who is/was going to make the sleeve of the new album and what it is/was supposed to be about?

  • I went to see the Smiths/Morrissey tribute band These Charming Men at the Dublin Temple Music Bar last weekend... it just so happened that I was over in Dublin that weekend over for a weekend from England. Oh and by the way, they were great.

Anyway, my point is this: The Moz-a-like singer asked the audience "Is anybody here from Manchester?" To which a few people shouted "YEAH!!!"... then the singer just went "Well, you're not the only ones... and I'll leave it at that...".

Can anybody explain what was meant by this and did These Charming Men know that Moz was in town?

  • Dear Morrissey,

Do you have Vada Bon Reve's number?

    Sincerely,

    ...and how?
  • Im just amazed that a drag queen knew the words to Last Night I ........., I thought it would be all Bette Midler, Dusty Springfield, Kylie etc. Full respect to this diva with a difference at least s/he has musical taste. Im glad to see Morrissey is showing his sexuality off more in public now as it is nothing to be ashamed about, even if he has a liking for skin heads and shemales. But what I really want to say is OI MORRISSEY GET BACK TO WORK, ALL THIS GIGGING AND BOOZING IN GAY BARS WON'T GET A NEW RECORD MADE. But then again as long as you are happy duckie.

Moz was in the audience at the Pony Club / SACK gig tonight in the Da 2 bar, Wexford St. Dublin. Speculation was rife as to whether he would get on stage and sing, unfortunately it wasn't to be. The venue suffered from a lack of ventilation and everyone found the heat intolerable including la Moz it would seem. I remain very chuffed to have seen Morrissey, such a wonderful feeling to have been so close to a huge hero of mine.
