I bumped into Morrissey crossing the road near St Stephens Green in Dublin last Tuesday. Being a massive fan for many years, I instantly recognised him, wearing his LA shades (for once the Irish weather somewhat resembled that of California). He said he was in town for a few days just visiting and he was showing some girls around. Surprise surprise he was just after coming from the Oscar Wilde monument in the 'Green. He seemed to be in really good form and was quite happy to be recognised and talk for a minute, he even got one of the girls with him to take a photograph of us which she said she’d send on. I don't think he's been working on anything musically for a while and didn't mention anything that might be in the pipeline. He almost sounded like he was putting on an Irish accent at times and even said "God bless you" once or twice - what a nice guy.

  • It's nice to see Moz out with the ladies for a change it only makes sense that Moz is in Dublin seeing how he's half-Irish and all.

  • I seen it for my own eyes everyone. Once in a blue moon me and a friend wind up driving up to moz's house, we dont stop or anything just drive up look and drive back down....this happens at night....anyway I was so suprised to see that he had a rosary hanging from his rearview mirrior!! it looked purple or lavender-ish. It made me feel good seeing that im a catholic, that even if he doesnt necessarily agree with the church, he acknowledges and shows some sort of respect for the religion he used to chastise in the past.

now all you atheist will reply with your "that doesnt mean anything" comments....i dont care....its what I saw and what it symbolizes thats important!

  • I was in the lovely seaside town of rhyl (north wales) the other day when who did i see YOU guessed it boz boorer alain whyte and dear mozzer on the fairground rides taking in money to spin people on the waltzers, it was fablulous.

We really laughed as david essex played on the stereo and we ate candy floss as moz ran off to the toilet in hysterics and some muppet confused him for crying, you had to be there...

  • And I was in Manchester, as I usually am, am I bumped into EN-GER-LAND fans and I felt like the German man who was apologising for most of the evening. I HATE ENGLAND FANS, and yet I am one.

    This is Lyric territory.

  • ........thats amazing.
i saw mozz in wales the other day.
he was talking in his best welsh accent.

he had 6 girls (!) on his arm, so he gave 2 to me.

he was wearing shades and a hat and carrying a versace sun canopy.

i asked him if he'd recorded new material and he said 'he'd love to'.

then one of the girls took naked pictures of everybody and promised to send them on before publishing them.

then he shook my hand and said "well done me'boy" in a gravelly welsh accent........

well it made me laugh anyway............. :-)))))

  • Like one time, I saw Moz dressed as Wilde, top hat and cape and all that cas, and he had several boy prostitutes with him. So, we decide to go out for a drink, but instead, landed in the food aisle at K-Mart. Fiddlesticks.

  • I'm about a mile away from the 'Green at the moment and though there is a Joyce and Yeats monument I couldn't recall that there was a Wilde one. In fact I was so confused I went and wandered around the park for an hour yesterday just to see if I was mis-remembering - but alas no Wilde! Then perhaps no Moz in Dublin after all?

    Love,

  • Glad to read this - it tends to confirm that the attractive lad I saw at Palace Bar in Dublin was Morrissey. He was with a woman - they quickly had a look about in the back room of the pub. It didn't register that it could be him until he was gone. My friends thought I was hallucinating. It's a shame - I would have loved to talk with him.
