Ticketmaster incurs the wrath of blogging Morrissey fans, steels itself for daffodil attack - My Chemical Toilet

Katherine Hannaford writes:

Excuse me for five minutes whilst I vent and rant about how angry I am with Ticketmaster and other online ticket-sellers. You may be aware that this morning, tickets for six London Morrissey gigs went on sale at 9am. Or you will be, when tonight's papers come out proclaiming the gigs as being the fastest-selling concerts since the guitar was invented...

  • AMEN!!
I first off, didn't try to buy any tickets to any of the London shows,so MY ANGER is not for that.
I am however,a veteran of live music for about 25 years, and have been to sooooooo many live concerts in my 39 years.I am an old deadhead, still love jimmy buffett and well, the MOZDADDY lets me in just fine,but....
Why can't i get /at seated venues/ anywhere NEAR the bloddy stage?
I would love to only complain about being close to the stage anymore, now i'm just glad i can get a "GOLDEN TICKET" at all.
It really hit me this year...at Pasadena.
I and my friends saw about 15 MOZ shows this year, all in the states.Every time tickets went on sale,we all were ready at /usually/ 10:00 am on saturday morning...phones,internets,etc.
So the morning that Pasadena went on sale...and we were ready....
NOTHING...NOT ONE TICKET WAS AVAILABLE /FOR 3 SHOWS/ ON TICKETBASTARD!!!
Now in the end,i know some folks got tickets from them, but overall...The brokers somehow got most.HOW HOW HOW?
I have been shut out on the bastard's before.but mostly because of me...
So this brings me back a spot.A few years back in my grateful dead days, they had a mail order ticket delivery service,so to speak. All they asked was a certain size envelope,a money order and a deadline...sort of like a lottery, but i always won,if i followed their own rules.
Why can't that be done within bands now?I want to say that maybe it is practiced, but not with any live acts i see every year.
As well, what is the practice of ticketbastard to give you tickets right away,at 10:01 am..just to see that its section 403 ,row 48,seats 1007 and 1008..where's the stage again?
I know i'm going on here...so many complaints..
Moz,i really think, can organize an internal system for ticket alocation,i mean, how hard can it be? He plays fairly small venues,a few grand mostly, which i love! Who picked the joint in Jacksonville, absolutely off the chain!
I would like a fair alternative to brokers, because,in the end,i am getting CREAMED!
I would just like to know how they get most of the seats, and almost all of the great ones.I am a lunatic that will pay 100,200 dollars for a concert,if the seats are smokin, but it should'nt be...
I was thinking /alot/ about Paris tickets...we mapped out the train between shows, hotels, some food....and how much money we would need, etc.I didn't try for London tickets but all i hear is the same stuff i hear over here in the states. Why i can't get a ticket by playing by the rules?
I think i will name ticket buying days..."saturday in out-patients"

  • I work for TM.

WE HAD ONLY 300 TICKETS PER SHOW FOR THE ROUNDHOUSE. Hence they are going to go bloody quickly.

SEE were the main vendor and were advertised as such.

    Thank you.
