This from the Observer:

I go to see Morrissey on the Pyramid Stage. Apparently Morrissey has demanded a 'closed stage', but I manage to blag myself in to watch it from the side of the stage. I really enjoy his set, but I'm sure he glances across during the gig, sees me, and gets pissed off. I'm not sure if he's pissed off because it's me, as I've worked with Andy Rourke or know Johnny Marr (in fact I know all the other Smiths), or just because it's someone he doesn't know. I might be reading too much into it, but knowing the sort of person he is I can imagine him getting pissed off about it. If so, he needs to chill the fuck out! I still think his set is one of the highlights of this year's Glastonbury, though ...

  • That teacosy hat is obviously lined with tin foil to stop THE RAYS.

  • He makes it clear he doesn't know him so how does he know what "sort of person" he is? Pillock!

  • He's just jealous because his music can never be half as good as Morrissey's. I've heard their albums, and they are so boring!

  • BDB is alright, 'The Hour Of Bewilderbeast' and 'About A Boy' are good albums. He seems like a sound enough guy. But I fear he's a bit paranoid over this - Moz looked pissed off with EVERYONE at Glastonbury. As one user of this site who saw him noted, he was at his most misanthropic. I think it's BDB who needs to chill out.

  • hes somewhat braggin about knowing the former members of The Smiths? and a little too for being able to sneak to the sidestage? Badly Drawn Boy is so pathetic, really. im sure Morrissey paid him no attention at all.

  • Is with those who can't see past Moz on this board. I've had the occasion to be in the pub with BDB and Andy after a Neil Young gig in Manchester.

Moz has a fierce dislike for anyone seen to be in the 'Joyce' camp and therefore I'm sure Moz was p'd off to see BDB there.

To the one who said 'He's just jealous, because his albums will never be as good as Morrissey's' dear me, the exit to the playground is over there.

Whether they are or not, music is subjective to taste so BDB'S albums could be vastly superior to Mozzer's in other people's eyes. Hardly an open viewpoint.

  • So he's upset because Moz looked at him funny and may have been upset, but he's not really sure. It sounds like this guy has insecurity issues rivalling Morrissey's.

  • I saw BDB in the motorway service station on the way back from Glasto and looked at him a bit funny as well.

To be fair, I like BDB and I understand his paranoia about the Moz.

  • I passed BDB coming out of MEN. I don't think he was on the guest list.

  • If he heard the stage was closed, why did he stand there like a dickhead? Moz should have punched him out. Ugly, funny hat wearing fucker.
